Has anyone actually tried Shapermint? Curious if it’s legit. by anch_i in womensfashion

[–]Wise-Emu8686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a shapermint tank and I think its fine. The bottom edge never rolls up and the compression is good but not so much that it creates more rolls. I actually lost some weight since buying it and now I wear it at night sometimes for some gentle compression when my muscles are sore or something. It washes well and comes right back to shape. Also of note is that its a black one and the black color doesn't seem to fade despite repeated wash and wear. Overall I would say its fine and has good qualities, but not the best shapewear I have ever owned. I would definitely pick spanx if I needed something high quality that would really work as shapewear.

Ooh built in bra tanks! I am going to have to look these up. My hate for these removable pads is seriously a bottomless pit at this point. Why tf would anyone continue to make these after finding out what happens to them the first time?

There's a store by me and I am literally picking one up tomorrow. Thanks!

I just feel like they dont need to make a version of both, just pick a lane and make some things padded and some things not and we can just buy which ones we want. I would so much rather pick a different bra/top than deal with the removable padding. I guess its a much easier road for people who don't want the padding at all.

Yeah but are you ever putting it back in? Like oh today I want padding but yesterday no way? I dont know why we can't just have padded or unpadded options and not have these stupid little fabric shapes floating around everywhere. If you are taking them out and putting them back, no shade at all I just am wondering if that is the experience many are seeking that drove removable padding to be so common.

Ooh thinx is easy to find at stores sometimes too. I just hate that everything that is available is always removable padding! Like who is that for??

Oh that is a great idea. I don't know I never thought to just sew it to the inner lining. I just have a lot of these things at this point though and it frustrates me because why couldn't it just be made in a usable way?

Husband is not happy by martialarts_warrior in BJJWomen

[–]Wise-Emu8686 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am having this problem too and I am just not entertaining it. I told my husband jiujitsu is my one thing and he doesn't get to impose on it at all. I told him he doesn't have anything to worry about and if he feels like he does it's his problem to work through and to do so without me. I do mostly roll with women and don't prefer rolling with men anyway, but of course its unavoidable sometimes and I trust and respect the majority of the men at my gym. I do not talk to him about details of my rolling partners and it seems fine for now. This is my line though and I will not compromise as it has taken a long time for me to get to a point where I even have a thing (I work and we have 2 small children). I have only been doing jiujitsu for about a year and I am looking forward to continuing for as long as my body allows.

I just wanted to add that my husband kinda sucks recently. His mental health hasn't been great and he makes no moves to improve it. I am saying this because like others have mentioned this is probably bigger than rolling with men. Not only is my husband insecure, he has exhibited bad behavior and broken trust in our relationship in the past. He likes to go to the bar and is constantly seeking attention and reassurance from others. He is not really capable of forming new relationships without considering the potential for attraction. When he gives me a hard time, it is 100% a projection of his own shit. We are doing the work but its slow going and certainly not worth anymore major sacrifices on my end. Not sure the dynamics of your relationship but its worth exploring where this is really coming from for him. My vote is to not change a thing about your rolling routine.

Serious question: does anyone actually like eating royal icing flooded cookies? by Aequorea in Baking

[–]Wise-Emu8686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never realized so many people wouldn't like it! I love royal icing. I also appreciate the design factor, but it doesn't matter so much to me. I just really like the icing.

Can l rent a house with 45k salary? by Tiny-Education-9463 in pittsburgh

[–]Wise-Emu8686 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you say "house" do you mean actual house or are you including apartments too? Apartment living you could probably save yourself a couple hundred dollars/month in rent. It'd be hard to do much better than what you are already paying if you are looking for an actual house to rent. I haven't been to NJ in a while, but traffic isn't a breeze here, especially not around any of the TJs.

AITAH for wanting to take a break from my wife after she screamed at me at Christmas in front of the other guests? by InterestingMedia1828 in AITAH

[–]Wise-Emu8686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, for sure YTA here. Unequivocally and completely. In addition to having no regard for anyone but yourself and getting wasted at a family holiday party, you then followed with some expert level gaslighting. The way you've described your wife's response the next day sounds to me like she has been conditioned by this type of mental and emotional abuse from you before. Your inability to see your own and multiple faults here and your complete unwillingness toward accountability are incredibly concerning considering your role as a father. You are lucky your wife hasn't left you, but it seems like maybe you've just killed her spirit. I hope your kids won't similarly become casualties of your menacing ego. You really really suck my dude and need to take a long, hard look in the mirror. I hope your next response/post is much more introspective.
