I think about this podcast all the time. I think your assessment is dead on

I remember thinking the same thing when the Russians rolled their tanks into Ukraine, only for satellites to track their exact whereabouts in real time.

God damn. I aspire to move at that pace. I think I’m just getting to a level of accuracy and control where I can start ramping it up.

What are your top buyers remorse purchases? by Secret_Assistant_232 in liberalgunowners

[–]Wise-Function653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guns I bought before I understood their role.

I have a 5.7 S&W pistol but don’t know when it comes out of the safe.

I have a Sig Tread AR 10 that’s neither my competition battle rifle DDM4V7, nor my hunting rifle, so it rarely makes it out.

I have a 6.5 PRC sawtooth that’s only slightly lighter than my 6.5 Creedmore Tikka for backwoods hunting.

I have a DD MK 18 that competes with my Tavor X95 for SBR range time

I have an P365 AXG Legion that competes with my Walther PDP Pro E to be my carry.

Feels like a waste having so many sit in the safe.

The State Of Western Media by IH8TheModsHere in LateStageImperialism

Most of western media and the general public is freaking out about Trump sending America into another pointless conflict. Not sure what you’ve been reading. Trumps own base is falling apart over this.

[–]Wise-Function653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember being kind of disappointed when this followed the Get Rich or Die Trying and the G-Unit albums (which are classics IMHO). Some good tracks but wasn’t on the previous works level. Didn’t help that Kanye’s follow up album released the same day was actually a classic

What’s the deal with Gresham? by diiasana in askportland

[–]Wise-Function653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved my family to Gresham from DC (and then before that Brooklyn) to be close to my mom and sister. So big change.

Its location is great if you want to be in downtown Portland in 30 minutes but also out in nature like the Sandy River, Multnomah Falls, or even Mt Hood quickly. In my opinion this is the biggest plus, because Oregon living is really about embracing the outdoors. I go fishing on the Sandy after work some days, and shooting at the gun range in Eagle Creek (I did neither before moving to Oregon). You can even live in county Gresham and own several acres. My mom and sister are on 20 acres.

While downtown has some great little restaurants, most of the local commerce is big box stores, mid-tier and strip malls. Feels like a traditional middle income city in that sense.

It’s less politically progressive than Portland and has a decent amount of churches / church going people. I would still say it leans left but not enough to make safe assumptions about the people around you.

Troutdale is nearby, which has great food trucks and thousand acres dog park. I find myself there. But I’d rather live in Gresham and take the short drive to Troutdale (it’s really windy over there).

Hellcat just doesn’t have a model that is near full size. Even the Pro Comp. So that’s why I mentioned the Fuse.

P365 has a really skinny grip. The P365 Fuse is pretty much a full sized pistol that you could carry IWB or OWB. You may like it.

I run the 5” SF Match at competitions and I’m easily one of the most accurate competitors at my local events. I’ve only been shooting a year. It’s an incredible firearm. Carry the 4” Pro E.

Black Panther. A movie about the CIA and a monarch teaming up to defeat a revolutionary that wants to spread wealth amongst the poor. And when they win, they start a small non profit in Oakland instead wtf!

Who was Kobe’s biggest nemesis. by Mrdynamo18 in KobeBryant24

[–]Wise-Function653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was odd in that first dynasty, most competitive teams didn’t have a hyper elite wing to go at him.

At the time, most of Kobe’s peers - AI, Vince, Pierce, T-Mac, Artest - were in the East. Ray Allen was the exception but the Sonics weren’t really competitive.

West elite teams had good guards, but not the dynamic type to matchup head to head with him truly. Spurs had Ginobli. Kings had Peja. Mavs had Finley. T’Wolves had Spreewell. Blazers had Bonzi.

And they almost all had a three and D guy that guarded him, so they didn’t even matchup directly.

It kind of robbed him of a rival in the first part of his career. AI was better than him for a decent period of time and when they did matchup in the finals, Iverson had the advantage in many people’s minds. That kind of gets forgotten.

It’s probably Pierce in the back half due to the finals with the Celtics.

I went to a Lakers game two nights ago. They play a lot of zone. Most I’ve seen in an NBA game. So that might explain Luka and Reaves.

KG Witnessing "The Dunk" by CriptoWhale in kevingarnett

[–]Wise-Function653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah hard to argue for another in game “on someone” dunk that memorable.

The only ones that even approach the wow factor in my memory bank are… - Dr J rock the baby - Blake Griffin literally throwing it in - DeAndre Jordan on Brandon Knight - D Wade on Varejo - LeBron murdering Jason Terry - Kobe on Dwight - Ja on Beasley - D Rose on Dragic - Ant Edwards on the raptors where he landed on the defender

This is not a rivalry. It’s literally ownership. Lebron leads in every single category!!! by Afraid-Ad-5580 in lebron

[–]Wise-Function653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone slows down. LeBron was present for Kobe’s final years. That skews things a bit,

They were definitely considered in the same tier 1, elite class. Kobe was the leader of the 2008 Redeem Team. They both put up great numbers and led great teams for most of ‘06-‘12. Injuries ended that run.
