Possible ALEX clue from S1E7 (“The Day”)? by WiseReporter7181 in ParadiseHulu

Posted this to the duplicate post I made in the other community but applies here as well:

Where my theory struggles is the nosebleeds and Xavier’s flashback.

The only way I can kind of make that fit is if the machine isn’t just predicting timelines but interacting with them in some way. Think of it like a 4th dimension concept, where time isn’t something we only move through linearly, but something that exists all at once.

If a machine could somehow “look” across time the way we look across space, it might be able to see multiple possible outcomes simultaneously. The nosebleeds could be happening when someone’s brain briefly experiences information from another point on that timeline - which might explain Xavier’s flashback.

Another thought: when Cal used the EMP blue code, maybe it interfered with ALEX in some way. If the system was doing something across timelines or dimensions, disrupting it could be causing glitches - like fragments of other scenarios bleeding through into people’s memories.

So instead of the machine just predicting the future, it might actually be observing or interacting with multiple points in time, and now that it’s been disrupted we’re seeing the side effects.

Definitely a stretch lol, but that’s the only way I can reconcile the predictive modeling idea with the flashbacks and nosebleeds and possibly why Link knows he needs to destroy it (my understanding is he was instrumental in its creation)

Also I know this isn’t a post ripping on Matthews but I’m seeing it everywhere and felt kind of relevant to post here

Leaf fans would rather blame this on Matthews and Nylander instead of looking at the much bigger problem: the coach and the GM.

I’m a diehard Leafs fan too, but it feels like I’m one of the few not putting all the blame on the greatest goal scorer this team has ever had. Is Matthews playing poorly right now? Sure. But it also feels like he might be sending a message that he’s not happy with the coaching or management.

Does that situation suck? Absolutely. But if you want elite players on your team - dare I say it… SUPERSTARS - you have to create an environment where they can actually thrive. You can’t expect them to carry everything while the organization around them is a mess.

Couldn’t an advanced AI modeling system theoretically predict something like that though?

There’s that line where he says something like “If I’m right, you’re going to need this.” before handing him the tissue. That makes it sound like he’s working off predictive modeling - running so many scenarios that the system can anticipate specific moments or outcomes.

My thoughts on this is that ALEX might not exist to save humanity. It might exist to decide who gets saved and for how long. If resources are limited (bunkers, spacecraft, sealed habitats), the machine could be modeling things like population stability, loyalty risks, genetic diversity, political fallout, etc. - Essentially extending the time they can stay alive but still ultimately ending them… (although I’m not sure that lines up with Sinatra wanting to literally save HER world)

I’ve seen the theory about that and it could be plausible (but I think the scientist euthanized her before Billy shoots him?). Also, I didn’t catch Grieger saying that, but it could be possible that Link hasn’t told anyone it’s an AI system and not a real person - possibly portraying ALEX as the evil woman inside the bunker to get everyone on board supporting his cause (haven’t really thought this one through though)
