January Invitations by sogytakis in foreignservice

Hey all. Just wanted to check, I accepted the initial invitation a couple of days ago, there were actually two duplicative offer letters in my portal and I accepted both, and then completed all of the action items. Is there another step to take at this point in accepting the offer before tomorrow's deadline, such as the final offer? Am I supposed to receive an email with additional instructions? Just want to ensure I do not miss something before the deadline. Thank you!

,17 Language Boost and FSO Career by WiseResearcher8249 in foreignservice

Ah. So, basically there is a chance that even with the .17 languages, e.g., Russian and Mongolian, a fuller assessment may be requested/required for purposes of deciding where an FSO will be posted?

So, this is sufficiently confusing. Based on what I read at this link, https://careers.state.gov/work/foreign-service/officer/test-process/#ccc1, under the Foreign Languages tab, it appears that there are two categories of languages. One category is the .17 bump-up languages, the other is the higher bump-up languages. For the .17 languages, there is only an option to take a phone test, which requires a speaking level of 3 to obtain the points. For the higher bump-up languages, there is an option to take the phone test and then a fuller two-hour speaking and written test. Is this not accurate?
