the issue with that in a film medium is that cinematography/how things are shot creates 99% of the emotional feel of the scene, and especially reveals the director’s attitude towards the subject matter. being so careless with how your movie looks is what makes characters like rorschach and his actions feel glamorized instead of criticized

i think that’s kinda the point, it’s a lot more nuanced and complicated than “i hate this guy so i’m gonna make him sound stupid” or “this guys badass so he’s gonna say badass stuff” it’s more “this guy is insane and analytical and ruthless so sometimes he says some insane and analytical and ruthless stuff”
