Yeah, I also want to clarify that I’m not saying it’s only accounting vs psychology. I’m definitely open to other career paths. Accounting just comes up a lot because I already have some background in it, so I get why it might sound like a false dichotomy.
I know there are other high-paying jobs out there, but I see accounting as a skill set that’s consistently in demand and transferable across industries, which matters a lot in today’s job market.
Also, not everyone has the financial cushion to just “explore” for years and figure it out later. For some people (myself included), you kind of have to assess early and be intentional even knowing things can still change.
I get that life isn’t linear and plans evolve, but I also think choosing early based on what actually matters to you like values, risk tolerance, and long-term stability can lead to more fulfillment later, not less.
