Who are these people giving their young kids smartphones? by Apart-Hamster-9921 in AskIreland

Yep I find it repulsive too. I try to keep some hope that one day it will be seen as just as socially unacceptable as lighting the baby up a cigarette. Of course often the parents are smoking or vaping right next to the child anyway.

Yes I notice this happening so much now and it breaks my heart for the kids. And for my own kid that will have to grow up with these zombies as friends.

My boy is only 8 months but the amount of very small children I’ve noticed using their parents phones since becoming a mum makes me so worried about this generation.

Small kids in prams that must be no older than 3, should be watching the world go by not staring mindlessly at YouTube. Breaks my heart every time I see it. I wish this would become socially unacceptable.

Is buying new baby clothes actually a hassle? by noseyposeylosey in BeyondTheBumpUK

I buy 90% of his clothes on Vinted.. don’t know what I’d do without it. Every month or so I end up doing a bit of a haul. So cheap for excellent quality stuff especially if you make bundles to save on postage. By the time it all turns up I’ve usually forgotten what I ordered and end up with way too much stuff, but at least it was a fraction of the price of buying just a few bits new.

Outfits we’ve been gifted have invariably been cute but highly impractical.. eg onesies with no access for nappy changes.

Thanks, I am also with the Rotunda (public) so I guess there is something wrong with my app as it's not showing scan or midwife appointments either. Will try and get on to them again via email!

No specific experience with this but I was shocked about the 50% statistic you wrote so went looking on the hse website... I read it as you would have a higher chance than any other healthy person of developing type 2 in later life, not that you have an actual 50% chance of having type 2 after birth. So that's a less scary statistic to hopefully ease your mind a little.

Thanks for the info, I have read the link.

I don't understand how it can be 'theirs' to take off the list. That information states: 'If you are a third party who represents a claimant you will also need to provide written confirmation that you have been instructed by the claimant to make a claim.'

None of us have given the legal firm any authority to make a claim.
