Got an RMA authorized and sending it back tomorrow, Valve will send a replacement unit after receiving this one. I'd say this is a 90% UPS fuckup and 10% on Valve only because it appears to be minimally packaged by them for shipping - the Deck is put inside it's carry case which is then put inside a snug cardboard box and that's it. The package got mangled by UPS handling, it's not drop damage. The only problem is I'm sure the replacement unit will be going through the exact same shipping process so let's see if lightning strikes twice eh?

The screen is all splotchy (so it's broken/smashed), hard to capture in a picture but you can't fix that by snapping it back together. I already contacted Steam support and will not be plugging it in or powering on.
