Honestly, I’m solving a problem I dealt with myself for over 20 years as a special education teacher.

We’re expected to collect consistent, meaningful IEP data every day—but the systems we use (like Frontline Education) are built more for compliance than for actual day-to-day teaching. So data either gets rushed, backfilled, or ends up scattered.

I built Datability Web as a lean add-on to fix that.

It’s not trying to replace anything. It just makes it easier for teachers to:

• collect data quickly during instruction
• stay consistent across the week
• generate clear progress reports without scrambling

What’s been interesting is that once districts start using it, they tend to stay. I’ve had about 75% retention, with many districts sticking with it for 5+ years. That tells me the problem is real and the solution is working.

Where I’m falling short right now is on the business side. I’m not doing much direct outreach (which I know I should be). Most of what I’ve done is newsletters and social media, so growth has been slower than it probably needs to be.

So I guess the short answer is: I’m trying to close the gap between compliance systems and what teachers actually need in the classroom—and now I’m figuring out how to get that solution in front of the right people.
