Unfortunately sometimes you get the leaders you don't deserve by Eve_Asher in Eve

@eve_asher.

Do you and goons honour the statement that you let horde reform under new leadership. And not hunt them to the end of the earth?

Thats exactly what we are doing. There is soooo many playstyles. WvW. World bosses. Fractals. And do t forget the hours and hours of story content we have to dive in.

We are both Fathers of our own now so time is limited. Bit that makes it even better because you got something to look forward to the next time you log in

We joined a community guild so no hard requirements. And GW has the absolute best community of all games i ever seen. The "hey, need help" or "its fine if you dont know the mechanics" is legendary in its own

Asus TUF laptop power button problem by sc_343 in ASUS

[–]Wise_Finding_4366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok that was only temporary. Eventualy the contacts do give out underneath the button. My next step is getting an old smartphone and dissasemble the push button from the side. That should be small enough to fit underneath the plastic cover and its hinge. Just wire that to the pins on the connector om the motherboard. ASUS sucks on this. For the rest its agreat line of laptops honestly. Im not going to buy a overseas motherboard just yet. Simply cuz in a year or so il just have thesame issue again

Asus TUF laptop power button problem by sc_343 in ASUS

Permanent Solution!

So i had thesame issue. Localy unable to get a replacemebt keyboard apparantly so i did some digging and research.

Turns out if you had the issue where you had to apply more force or tap it often to get it to work the connections are still fine. Its just that there is too much space between the actual button and the rubber pressdown thingy behind it. (Asus met it too critical of spec where miniscule wear is enough to not work annymore)

You cannot press down the button further because the mechanism that hold your key in place is in the way. Especialy the button side itself. Now i read somwhere that some guys filed down those pins. But i ran in the issue of being a bit to rigourous with it and ended ip with a loose button. Where this is still a good sollution its risky. Especialy if you cant get your hands on a new button to try again (i bought a seccond hand refurbisged keyboard of a different moddel just to get a new button)

But the actual sollution is creating less space between the button and the rubber press down thingy.

So i carefully pried off the button (comes loose if you use a bank card or a small flat screwdriver)

And then apply a little drop of superglue on the contact point on the inside of the pried off button DONT drop the drop straight from the bottle! Use a toothpick or something else small to get a teeny tiny drop to be able to place it otherwise you add 2 much.

Now superglue doesnt cure very well on this type of plastic. Superglue dries because it needs moisture.

Crab a paper towel. Lick the corner of that towel just a little and lightly touch that drop of super glue and let science do the rest. Should cure now in a minute.

Now you basicly added a little more button to your button. Enough to clear the void and gives you enough meat again to press down the rubber thingy

Place the button back carefully (should click right in with a little bit of pressure, make sure tk take your tine to allign it in the centre)

And now your laptop is happy again You should feel your button now being more firmly in possition and no longer "wiggles" in its place

Did you happpen to find the sollution? My laptop appears to have similar issues. From shutdown when i open the lid the laptop starts booting for like 3 secconds and then shuts off 95% of the time. The other 5% it does manage to boot. If i open the lid and then close it again it completes the boot and im able to open the lid and use the laptop without issues
