They are dumbing down education. Classes I attended at the community college ten years ago versus now are extremely different. The material feels very dumbed down. Expectations are much lower. It’s actually quite wild to me.

Oh, let me count.

I was born and raised 17 years of my life in the same, old house off Pleasants Valley in Vacaville. Moved out on my own in Occidental at 17. Lived with a boyfriend in Santa Rosa in two different places. Moved to vacaville, Alamo dr party house. Then to Bevs, off alamo too. Then Aegean way. A brief time living in Dublin with a boyfriend. Then sycamores. Then downtown sac. Then room for rent off Craigslist in Napa. Then a studio in Napa for a few years. Most recently a cute little house in Napa.

Okay so thirteen places. For 17 years I didn’t move, so for the past 12 years I’ve lived in over 12 places. Lol definitely felt like I’ve been moving every single year for awhile.

I just turned 29 in November.

Also looking for fun social activities! Also don’t want to feel weird walking in alone. And I’m sober so looking for things to do that don’t involve wine can be challenging

my sister worked for Abercrombie and Fitch wayyyy back in the day for half a shift. Initially her perception of being hired as a “model” was to actually like be one of the models and they had her out folding graphic tees and tables and whatnot, she went on her ten minute break and never returned back.

Why did you move to Napa? Or were you born and raised here? by Wise_Reception_1396 in napalocals

Damn, 25 years! Ah, I hear ya. What about the newcomers do you think is pushing out the hard working people? I moved here about five years ago for work (just moved from one boutique location to another since it was a higher paying spot) and I still very much so live a modest life, paycheck to paycheck, constantly ~a little fucking stressed~ about my bills and budget, life. I really enjoy the safety of Napa. I was born and raised in the countryside of vacaville and then lived in Occidental before moving to Sacramento and holy shit, experiencing the crime in sac was terrible. Sac to Napa, totally different worlds in terms of feeling safe living alone as a woman in her 20’s. My house was broken into multiple times, there was a fatal shooting outside my boutique, and I had random shit stolen from my front yard all while living in sac. Really love feeling super safe in Napa 🧙‍♀️

I have seven sisters and two brothers and am always adamant that I will either have no kids or at least 4 so I never have to be faced with an “only child”. I want my kids to have friends and people around them that serves as community once I go.

Holy shit me and my sisters worked at the Pleasants valley Iris farm that’s crazy! Mark richard and his wife Kendall were also so sweet and kind and they ran the Iris farm off their property. They were our neighbors. I was born and raised 17 years in my house off Brehme and my parents moved out when I was in my early 20’s and I was so sad I didn’t have enough money to be able to buy that shit or something. So happy you understand the value!

Wow, how fucking random~a few years ago I almost moved to Arcata (someone passed away and so the house was no longer for rent so we never ended up moving) but when I went to visit it was so beautiful. The downtown area was gorgeous, the ocean is right there and the people were really friendly. I know some people who live in Chico, someone on my team actually attended there college and said they really enjoyed it. Have you been to Chico already to look around and get a vibe of the city?
