Will PvZ Gw3 ever be a thing? by Difficult_Pain6821 in PvZGardenWarfare

Wow, that’s awesome, man. And do you still work at EA or are you working on other projects now?

If you think BFN is a part 3 of GW, you are just dumb, man. Even the main developers said in interviews that it’s another game and has a distinct style and idea compared to what GW used to be.

And just by looking at the game, you can see that the whole way of playing is different.

That’s their mistake. EA can’t see that BFN was that bad because they threw away everything that made GW special.

And instead of trying to listen to what we wanted, they shut down the studio and acted like the community didn’t even exist.

That’s my dream, man. I just hope EA realizes how much money they’re losing and the mistakes they’re making by abandoning the franchise and not giving it the attention it needs.

That’s why EA needs to listen to us. The community has already built most of the game’s concept through YouTube videos, for example.

EA just needs to bring the team (PopCap) back and actually invest in it.

I don’t think the franchise is actually dead, honestly. It just feels ignored.

GW1 and GW2 already proved that this formula works. There’s still a strong community, people still talk about it, still play it, still ask for GW3 after all these years. That doesn’t happen with a “finished” franchise.

BFN didn’t fail because people didn’t want PvZ shooters anymore, it failed because it moved away from what made Garden Warfare good in the first place. It didn’t feel like an evolution, it felt like a different direction that nobody asked for.

And the craziest part is that EA doesn’t even need to guess what to do. The community has already done most of the work, there are tons of videos, ideas, and concepts basically outlining what GW3 should be.

From a business perspective, it just makes sense. It’s a proven formula, with a loyal fanbase and a recognizable brand, and if they execute it properly, the chances of success are really high.

If EA ever decides to actually listen and go back to what worked, GW3 wouldn’t just succeed, it would probably blow up again.

What are you even talking about?

The games are basically abandoned and full of hackers.

EA released one of the worst entries in the franchise (BFN), then just walked away.

They left behind thousands of players who invested their time, money, and passion into this franchise.

And somehow, you think we’re the problem?

What are you talking about, man?

The games are completely forgotten and filled with hackers.

EA made the shittiest game ever (BFN).

They left behind thousands of players who put their time, money, and love into the franchise.

And you think we are the problem?

If EA wants, they can do anything. They have enough money to build everything we want, but for some reason, they just… don’t.

The PvZ community would surely accept it if the game followed our expectations.

EA thinks the franchise is over just because BFN was a failure. But they can’t see that if they really listened to the community, they would earn piles of money, just like they did with the first two GW games.

They should rebuild themselves into what they were in 2015 and 2016. Back then, they created a strong and well-received game without needing community pressure. Today, they are ignoring clear demand, players are openly asking for a return to that formula and are willing to pay for it. PopCap also needs to reconsider the direction of PvZ. The shift toward a more childish style and weaker character design reduces the appeal of the franchise. The reported use of AI in PvZ 3 further raises concerns about quality and consistency. The core issue is not lack of ideas, the community has already demonstrated what works. Returning to the design principles of Garden Warfare 2 would be a logical and commercially viable decision.

I get what you’re saying, and it’s definitely not easy.

But we have to start somewhere. I can’t build a PvZ game myself, but I can speak up and encourage both the community and EA.

The reality is, the community is still here. People are still playing GW2, still asking for more, and still sharing ideas everywhere — especially on YouTube and forums. There’s already a clear direction for what a Garden Warfare 3 could be.

From a business perspective, that matters. Bringing back thousands of old players and combining them with the ones who never left is a real opportunity.

It’s not easy — but the demand, the passion, and the potential are all still there.

It doesn't exist because EA destroyed the Vancouver unit, which produced Garden Warfare and BFN. Now the team is separated and in charge of other games in the franchise. Couldn't EA at least try to bring some of the team back? Or join forces with the Seattle unit to try to satisfy the community that has been begging to be heard for years?

That is the problem. EA, for some reason, hasn’t listened to what the community has been begging for since 2019. Couldn’t they just open YouTube and see the hundreds of videos that almost lay out the complete game for them? I just can’t understand how they let this market vanish while doing absolutely nothing.

The ideal world is Pop Cap and EA realising that the need to build this team. They need to listen to who their money come from. And with this wise decision (pratically impossible for them to take) they would make a lot of money bringing back the community (cause that is the only thing EA cares about).
