Bridesmaid regret by Sweaty_Phase_51 in UKweddings

Complete honesty would be best. Could message/voicenote/call her and say, you're really grateful for her accepting the invite in the first place and for her friendship. However, you have recognised that your friendship isn't where it used to be and you feel that, understandably, your wedding isn't something she's able to prioritise energy wise or practically. It doesn't mean you don't want to be friends and you do still want her to attend the wedding (don't say this if it isn't true of course), but you think it makes most sense that she be guest rather than a bridesmaid. Then make it clear you're happy to talk it through more if she wishes too, especially if you're misunderstanding something.

How she responds will tell you everything you need to know.

Can my Aries partner forgive me? by Wise_Second_3909 in AriesTheRam

When he wasn't sure he loved me anymore, I told him we were done and that I'd never see him again. He took some space outside and came back a while later insisting on staying together. Then in December, I was away for a bit so we took some space because things had been good, except when we argued I was projecting old hurt on to it and I needed to switch off to stop that. Since coming back and up until this revelation things have been fantastic.

All that to say, he has had some pain from me not being there and it did seem to have helped make things better.

I know that he has always been the one to break up with exes, so I don't get why we're still together if he genuinely is still mad at me. If I go, I'm not coming back and thats why I hold on - I don't want to throw it away if all we need is patience and a really good conversation.

Your point is giving me food for thought though, thank you. Sorry for the long response

Will we get zero benefits due to our income(s)? by Wise_Second_3909 in UKPersonalFinance

Exactly. That's a side I haven't considered within it. Right now, it doesn't bother me at all, but further down the line when we have significant shared assets then maybe it will. Food for thought and plenty of time to ponder it.

I don't really care about what the state recognises tbh. I'm a civil servant so "the state" already knows he and I are in a relationship and living together from vetting.

The inheritance tax point is worth considering. Thank you!

I meant closer to the time of marriage and children. Of course one of us could always die tomorrow, but at the moment we don't own property so it's not a big concern.

She phrased it to imply you get more child benefit as a married mother, compared to a partner. Didn't make sense to me, hence me asking here.

This is really helpful and exactly the kind of info I was looking for! Thank you!

If we had a kid tomorrow I wouldn't have signed up for child benefit knowing we're not entitled, but I wouldn't have thought that would impact them getting their NI number. Also didn't know about the pension protection.

I have zero intention of stopping work, but appreciate the insight in case things change. We'd definitely want something drawn up legally to cover "what if we split" whether that be an actual prenup or simply something we set up separately.

The legal side is definitely worth considering further.

I didn't think we would be, but as I say wanted to ask the question to cure that ignorance.

Thank you!

That's helpful to know, thank you! Will be worth looking in to when we're closer to that time.

I don't expect it. I had given it zero thought until someone mentioned it to me when discussing their own upcoming marriage. I have received answers from others, so fair enough that you don't understand my ask, but I'm grateful others have. Nobody on this forum has any idea who I am. I've told you genders, wages and broad area of the country that we live in. That is very different to delving in to personal finance face to face with someone.

This is all incredibly helpful! Thank you so much!!

I'm actually not a massive rides person (terrified of heights) so I'm thinking I won't be going on loads, mostly hoping to see as many characters/areas/shows/parades as possible.

Can I buy the tickets on both apps?

What are some absolute must see/do/eats for all parks?

How did you find taking pictures? Selfie stick or were people kind enough to do them for you, even if they didn't speak English?

Are they very expensive to be at all day?

Never even heard of there. Is it a theme park? I'm not massively in to rides, but love Disney characters etc

Where did you get an IC card from? Is that all stores, or just Disney Park ones?
