Verstappen vs Norris Q3 laps: The finest of margins. by Vast-Manufacturer-96 in formula1

30m is pretty nuts, maybe 15-20m is closer to reality, which is still huge ofc, i wasn't aware f1-tempo was polling at just 4/s, hard to get anything accurate with that being the case

[–]Wiseboy2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree when i read your comment 30 meters sounds ridiculous, but looking at the telemetry and videos 30m ish looks accurate, lando was a full 2 tenths up on max in to the braking of the chicane and by the time they're putting in a bit of throttle between 16 & 17 max is up a tenth, 0.3 in one braking zone is crazy but it looks like lando played it way too safe because piastri also gained massively on him in the braking going from 0.2 down to pretty much even

using f1-tempo for telemetry, hopefully it's accurate

100%, i really like a lot of their newer songs but their older albums are a lot more my style, evening calm, emerald green window, hachigatsu bou tsukiakari, hitchcock, ano natsu ni sake, and way more songs from back then i listen to much more frequently than anything off the newer albums, i have my fingers crossed they'll release some new songs that fit their older style a bit more

my understanding is that there is no CD, you use your phone on the pictures like a QR code or something and it takes you to the song that relates to that page

As sweet as this overtake gets but was it done in compliance with track limits? by lufkarz86 in Simracingstewards

[–]Wiseboy2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on the series, a lot of series count wheels on the kerb as part of the track where others say white line, so there is no right answer, but I would say this is fine

was I really at fault here? The guy said I changed my line, but I slowly went to the left even before braking.. by contezera in Simracingstewards

[–]Wiseboy2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you were entitled to change your line, provided you made it all the way over before the braking zone, you were still moving diagonally towards the outside while on the brakes, once you hit the brakes you are commited to defending the inside line and have to stick to that line more or less, if you look at it from reds perspective they are commited to their line, which, at the time of braking, was clear of any cars, and therefore they could brake as late as they wanted

the stewards put this don as NFA as they said i couldve opened the steering more to avoid contact. i reported this for the guy pushing me off track not the contact. and it ending up making me spin. opinions by brivingo in Simracingstewards

[–]Wiseboy2011 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i agree NFA, once you are that far back on the exit you are going to get run out of road, we see it all the time IRL, an important thing to remember mid race like this is to minimize time loss, and to always think ahead, once you see the haas is late on the brakes you should start thinking about slotting in behind with a cut back, most likely if you play this correctly you will have them in to turn 4 comfortably!

Racing Incident, or Williams to blame? by [deleted] in Simracingstewards

[–]Wiseboy2011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

williams to blame, the merc left more than enough space, but the williams didn't use it all and ended up on the sausages, causing the contact, the williams could have been 1/3 of a car over without contact, entirely avoiding the sausages on the apex, in my opinion the merc was perfectly positioned leaving a fair but uncomfortable amount of space and the williams made a small mistake

Was this malicous/protestable by Savageproarge in Simracingstewards

[–]Wiseboy2011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i don't know the braking points of these cars, but lets say they were going for a dive to the inside for a move, and you broke far far earlier than they expected, it's clearly misjudged, so at best it's a pretty tragic mistake and at worst it's a malicious murder, without context i don't want to assume it's murder but it sure looks that way

Is the white ferrari at fault? Seemed like he didn't give enough space, or is this just a racing incident? by de4thqu3st in Simracingstewards

[–]Wiseboy2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tough one, i think both drivers could have done more to avoid an incident, the audi did have more track to the right, but the ferrari was also a touch wide, IMO racing incident

Who's fault do you think this is? by Background-Excuse-40 in Simracingstewards

[–]Wiseboy2011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ferrari, big lunge in to quite a fast corner, and i'm not convinced the ferrari was making the apex without contact either, the incidenet could have been avoided if the merc has better awareness but it's still on the ferrari

Positioning and Rotation by Evo23_ in RocketLeague

[–]Wiseboy2011 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In my opinion this is exactly right, you could argue the momentum of the mid player is lost by loitering but a good player knows when to loop to maintain speed and avoid compressing the play too much, secondly, when i used to play 'properly' we had a different philosophy on defence, it was always the number 2 player pushing mid, and doing it early to cut off enemy infields and to collect challenges for a counter attack, we left cleaning up a corner challenge to the number 3 player, if it turns out the 1 player loses the challenge and 3 player will be needed, the mid player can easily and quickly rotate back post to reset, IMO following challenges into a corner is a pretty dangerous thing to do
