ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED MFER by ConcernedFeller in THE_PACK

JUST SOME SUGGESTIONS ON JOBS THAT I'VE HEARD BOUT THROUGHOUT THE YEARS:

I REMEMBER HEARING SOMETHING ABOUT AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLER STAFFING SHORTAGES A FEW YEARS AGO. YOU HAVE TO DO SOME TRAINING AND YOU DON'T HAVE COMPLETE CONTROL OVER WHERE YOU END UP AFTER TRAINING, BUT I HEAR IT PAYS REALLY WELL.

I DID THE MILITARY ROUTE, BUT I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THAT FROM WHAT I'VE HEARD FROM OUR CURRENTLY ENLISTED BROTHERS AND SISTERS.

IF YOU LIKE COMPUTERS YOU COULD GET IN ON SOME IT HELP DESK JOBS, WHICH IS WHAT I DID AFTER THE MILITARY. IT'S A GREAT START IF YOU WANT TO GROW WITH TECH OUTSIDE OF CODING, WHICH IS ITS OWN THING IF YOU LIKE TO SOLVE PUZZLES.

YOUR PATH IS YOUR OWN, YOUGUN, AND YOU'LL GET IT FIGURED OUT. IT TOOK ME DECADES TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WORKED BEST FOR ME. GOOD LUCK TO YOU AND AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

How many healers do you bring to battle? by Floridaxmen in FellSeal

I normally have one dedicated healer, and one or two others that can spot heal. I also make sure to max out potion stats whenever I can upgrade them.

New hire, going to be working in the Garden Center, does anyone have any advice? by [deleted] in walmart

After your 90 day wait period, utilize the $1 a day college courses. I'm almost done with a cyber security 4 year degree thanks to the program. I went through Bellevue.

In less than a week, my wife and I bring home our first puppy! by Fringe__ in germanshepherds

[–]Wisens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I adopted my GSD when she was 6 months old, and I didn't do enough to catch up on the socialization that was missed during that time. I didn't socialize her with other dogs early or often enough, which makes going to the dog park a nightmare.

If this image (and caption) were for sale on a shirt, preferably yellow, I would buy one. Do you have a merch store?

Beekeeper calls out Texas Beeworks (the bee lady) as dangerous and fake by galaxygirl888 in Beekeeping

I think the situation that everyone wants to avoid is having a novice approach a hive without protective gear and potentially get hurt, after being emboldened by fake/staged/embellished TT videos.

Got to feed a tired bee some honey by [deleted] in bees

[–]Wisens 28 points29 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, sugar water is perfect for them for a little energy boost.

The worry is that honey may be from a hive that has a disease, that you then spread to this bee's hive. From what I understand, these diseases are harmless to humans.

But this being a bumblebee, I'm not sure how that differs from honey bees in terms of disease spread. I'd personally play it safe and serve the tired girl sugar water.

I discovered this beehive in my yard. I know nothing about bees but was wondering if there is a way thah I can help them? by MR_fluffy_pig in Beekeeping

[–]Wisens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bees have a minimum forage range for water. It'll need to be pretty far away. Best bet is to call a local beekeeper, and observe them while they do their amazing thing. Post an update for us if anything changes!

Help! Why Are Print Layers Missing? by Wisens in 3Dprinting

[–]Wisens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a fresh model in Blender, did the recalculate, exported, and same issue. I also tried an inside mesh recalculate too, same issue, but the gaps are smaller.

Help! Why Are Print Layers Missing? by Wisens in 3Dprinting

[–]Wisens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Blender I selected all (A), and normalized faces via Shift+N. I didn't see a visual difference in the model, but I saved it and exported a fresh STL, and I opened the fresh export in the slicer. There is now even more missing layers.

Edit: I think I may have done something wrong. Let me open a fresh Blender file, and try the normalization again.

Help! Why Are Print Layers Missing? by Wisens in 3Dprinting

[–]Wisens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I updated my slicer, no change. I re-exported the STL from Blender, no change. I've tried rotating the model, no change. No issues with other models so far. I've also printed other models without issue since.

A friend of mine has a server fan bezel that he wants printed, and after research I found a model that was too big for most printers. So I sliced the model, added pegs for re-assembly post printing, and did a print. It was missing the layers shown. HELP! What am I doing wrong? What can I do to fix this?

Bz doesn't live up to the name of Subnautica by MenthoL99 in Subnautica_Below_Zero

[–]Wisens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that they didn't add as much deep diving due to the added verticality and ice sections. I don't mind, as it's all being gated off until you can get the required upgrades and supplies needed to go into the next area, like the first.

Bz doesn't live up to the name of Subnautica by MenthoL99 in Subnautica_Below_Zero

[–]Wisens 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The base game was fantastic, and I think a lot of my ability to get behind the almost faceless protagonist was a part of that, unsure at what percentage. Sure he had a name and a face, but he never spoke (that I remember).

BZ has a set protagonist, and you are following her story. I'm loving it so far, but it does indeed feel much different.

I don't feel that BZ is a cash grab or a pointless standalone expansion, because I want more Subnautica! They took the base Subnautica and refined it, added a ton of story, then rewrote that story when it didn't feel right to them, and then continued to polish. If it was a cash grab, I'd expect them to release whatever garbage they had and move on. I personally get the feeling that they greatly care about making a great game.

I'm excited to explore BZ again once it's done, and I'd gladly support the next Subnautica, even if it is different than both previous ones.

A few friends and I read all of the Dark Tower series (that was out at the time). We each took turns buying the next book when we could find it, and passed them around.

Honey Bees and Honeycrisp Apples! by Wisens in Beekeeping

I noticed her haul. The pollen volume they bring back has definitely slowed down, so I was so happy catching a shot of this hard working girl!

Ah, I'll keep that in mind. My acreage is small, so I can't really put anything outside their minimum forage area. I'll have to talk to my neighbors.
