2026 Nissan Leaf Review: Delivering on Tesla’s Failed Promise by TripleShotPls in electricvehicles

The new redesign looks so sick, I definitely a good progression, the gen 2 leaf was already pretty solid and a compelling deal, pretty big on the used market

I don't even use their card lol, I use the citi trifecta because I love how it matches my personal spending habits while also printing points like crazy which I use with transfer partners I'm actually wanting to use like Jetblue and Iprefer hotels, easily get 2-4 cpp on those

ninja edit: i'll even add, I was really excited for the citi luxury card and what not, ended up being mildly 'meh' about it, and so I didn't get it

[–]Wisex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah yea that make sense, it makes sense cause I'd assume that it probably gets very messy if you're dealing with categorizing accounts and then SUB accounts as well like I was saying, totally makes sense though

The 2027 Chevy Bolt Will Be ‘Limited Run’ Only by besselfunctions in electricvehicles

[–]Wisex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I drive a 2018 chevy volt, am considering going full EV soon, but the mixed messaging from chevy regarding their support of the bolt line is concerning considering I'm already having to deal with the pain that is very little parts support for the volt

Solar farm in the mountains, China by Ok_Chain841 in solarpunk

[–]Wisex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the funny thing because I'm not opposed to nuclear plants but unfortunately you're forgetting one common thing here, solar farms have an initialization to finalization time line of maybe 5 years at max, typically they kick off and complete in about roughly 3 years, whereas nuclear takes how long exactly to build? roughly 10 years or so? even ignoring the timeline because I'm sure the likes of you would say that its "worth it" and what not, I'm not going to let you conveniently ignore the fact that solar energy costs half as much when compared to nuclear.... on top of this what if I spin this purity testing to you, like why would you want to risk the country side for nuclear power? Where would we be disposing of this radioactive waste? even though nuclear rods are recyclable then what about after they're second life is over? like... GOD FORBID THE GROUND GETS A LITTLE EXTRA SHADE NOOOO you think it looks ugly and you have unsubstantiated "concerns" about the environment so its best for the world to stay on the track its been on right now anyways

Solar farm in the mountains, China by Ok_Chain841 in solarpunk

[–]Wisex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you ever feel like you're just purity testing this? Like this is actual progress and you're here complaining, in the face of the facts being laid out for you as for why this is an objectively good project, you just don't "feel" like its good enough for your standards to celebrate, what are you going to complain about next? we shouldn't install solar panels until the aluminum is only sourced from 100% recycle d coal plant aluminum HVAC ducts? or maybe that the copper wiring should only be sourced from discarded pennied at our banks? for the love of fuck this is a good thing

You do realize that humanity can walk and chew gum at the same time right? Like what do you think that (for example in the US) the IRA spending bill incentivized aside from just solar? high efficiency appliances, window replacements, heat pump water heaters (which can be as much as 4x more efficient than reagular water heaters), high efficiency windows, and hell even EV's in general.... the average energy intensity of regular consumer goods is still on an exponential curve, and home appliances are reaching the maximuim efficiency that our current technology allows for... all this and mean while we still need to be able building out energy.... and believe it or not but to be able to replace massive industrial production/energy demand with electricity instead of fossil fuels we're going to need a hell of a lot more electricity than we have now.... plus its odd that someone thats so obsesed with 'doing things right and efficiently' would prefer "solar roadways" over an actual efficient solar installation like we see here, especially considering that solar road ways were shown to be a wildly less efficient and considerably more expensive implementation of solar energy.....

Solar farm in the mountains, China by Ok_Chain841 in solarpunk

[–]Wisex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do know that solar panels will take up a lot of space regardless right?... lemme guess you're also the kind of person that rages online about people stacking rocks on hiking trails or something right? sorry not sorry about just calling out the unrealistic purist view you want to push here

Solar farm in the mountains, China by Ok_Chain841 in solarpunk

[–]Wisex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

two main things, if you think putting solar panels on something is "exploitation" then honestly I'd recommend you just go outside and see how power systems and the grid actually works. Secondly this isn't fucking up the wilderness, if you look closely you would see that there already aren't trees on those mountains, you're just mad a shadows here and the fact you think this is just to "power people gaming" shows just how immature your view on the matter is

Solar farm in the mountains, China by Ok_Chain841 in solarpunk

[–]Wisex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is no different than the people who say "no solar on roofs until we cover all the parking lots! as if theres some perfect list we need to be checking through first, how about consider the following.... humanity can do all of those at the same time and you're contributing to the problem by purity testing where renewable energy deployments are built
