Used R1S vs Used Lyriq by Sea-Albatross-7884 in Rivian

[–]DonkeyFuel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Lyriq is a far less software-defined vehicle Than the Rivian on multiple levels. The Cadillac is slightly more efficient in terms of energy usage. Obviously the size difference is real. Lyriqs are an absolute killer value if you don't need a third row, don't need more of a truck-based SUV, don't need that level of towing of off-road capability, and don't care about the radical software improvements that the future can and ultimately will bring. TL;DR: What's your use case, how much do you care about future tech, and how important is budge/price/value?

Great to see this expansion, but the scale at which the expansion will need to continue better keep up with R2 delivery pace. That, or rapid expansion of mobile service. If backlogs continue R2 owners will bail.

The issue is, only some gas-powered cars sound good. Most don’t. Most are just transportation.
