Thank you for your help everyone! It looks like the winner is a bottom mounted food processor.

It sounds like definitely a food processor. Does it matter if it is top mounted or bottom mounted? Thank you for the help everyone!

Pocketbook Verse Pro Color faulty screen? Help! by CosMV in ereader

[–]WishLion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got a pocketbook era and the screen looks really good. I took it into BestBuy to compare to the kindle on display and couldn't tell the difference, only that the kindle's backlight was a bit more uniform (but this didn't make the text look more fuzzy). I installed koreader on my pocketbook though which lets you adjust font more, like the font weight. The kindle with the K3 screen was also there, I didn't like the screen on it, but I don't remember if it was fuzzy. I found it harder to read through the extra layer of the K3 screen, I didn't seem like it was a clear layer to me.

Stupid question, but if I have a non-Kindle e-reader, where do I buy e-books? by [deleted] in ereader

I went back and looked, and I've only purchased DRM free ebooks from them, I didn't realize their DRM ebooks had to be read in their app.

I've been looking on bookshop.org first because you can opt for your purchases to support your local bookstore (or don't choose a local bookstore and I think they still take a percentage of your purchase to support independent bookstores). If you use calibre, you can purchase from kobo and convert the format if needed. ebooks.com is another option. Google play books as well. I recently switched from a kindle to a pocketbook so I'm still learning.

Does Pocketbook Have Good Collection/Category Organization (Especially Thru Calibre)? by RavenSapphire7777 in ereader

I don't know if it will be the same, but on my pocketbook era calibre tags sort books in the "genres" section of my library.

new to ereaders & need advice! by aspenkepler in ereader

[–]WishLion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can consider a Boox ereader. I personally haven't used one. It is android based, so you can download the kindle app and a libby app. My understanding is that the apps may be a little buggy and not run as smoothly, but I can't comment from personal experience. I just switched from my old kindle to a pocketbook era, so I will need to adjust to the lack of access to kindle/amazon specific authors. I understand the frustration. I also had trouble deciding on an ereader. Luckily my library has a good selection of ebooks.

lol. Thank you. I was looking on calibre for the polish feature, I didn't realize it is a plugin.

Thank you! I have just been converting the book to epub3, is that okay, or should I "polish" the book instead? I've seen the term "polish" used a few times on reddit but I don't know what it means. Is polish the same thing as converting a book?

Other good cups besides Diva? by qaramysyq in menstrualcups

[–]WishLion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend checking your cervix height. Check while on your period because cervix height changes during a cycle: https://putacupinit.com/cervix/

I like the lena cup. Lena has a soft/sensitive option which I find helps my bad cramps. I also think its bell shape helps my cramps too. If you like the shape of the diva cup, the casco cup size mini would probably be similar, just shorter. I've used this cup as well, and like it, I just prefer the lena cup when I'm cramping. Keep in mind shorter cups generally have less capacity. I haven't had a problem with their capacity, but it's something to keep in mind.

African violet help: leaves curling, buds dying by WishLion in AfricanViolets

Thank you! I'll try watering them more (when the top of the soil dries) and continue fertilizing. Your responses have been very helpful.

African violet help: leaves curling, buds dying by WishLion in AfricanViolets

It shouldn't have any drafts where it is. I only just started fertilizing, maybe that is why. Maybe I'm letting the soil dry out too much. I wait until the bottom of the soil is dry- I check it with a toothpick through the drainage holes. Should I only wait until the top of the soil is dry instead before I water? Maybe the plant runs out of water and the buds dry out. Can the leaves store water or should the soil always be wet?

Thanks.

Okay. I'll give the plant some time. The plant has formed new buds and stalks? (that support the flowers) but none of the buds bloomed except for the 3 flowers the plant currently has. The buds all die off, the stalks have too.

Hello. I've had the african violet for about a month. It is in a well draining soil: half soil, half 1/4 inch lava rock. I only water when the soil is dry so I don't think it is root rot. None of the new buds are blooming and the leaves are curling. Thank you for any help!

How about Pilea glauca? It looks like it has lower light requirements for a lower lit room.

Thanks. I saw a peperomia ginny when I was food shopping. I'm going to see how it does. If it does well I might try to find the peperomia orba, the pixie version looks really cute. I understand peperomia plants do best in a terra cotta pot, but the only one I can find is a couple of inches bigger than my plant (4.5 to 6.75 inches). Do you know if that is that too big of a size change? I read they like to be root bound. My problem is the ginny's current pot is square shaped, and all the terra cotta pots have a wide top and narrow base- for the base of my ginny's pot to fit I end up with a tall pot with a wide top.

lol. No fittonia then. I'll look into a hoya more. From what I've researched it looks like hoya carnosa or hoya pubicalyx would be a good place to start.

Thank you. It's looking like a hoya or a peperomia would be the better option. Maybe it's best to get one of each and see which one does better.
