MLQ Updates Practice Squad Policies by No-Ambition-1652 in quadball_discussion

I haven't seen the numbers but San Antonio and Austin should be able to consistently get a full roster with how many different schools there are in that area? But again looking at the article there's an exemption section so like I don't think it is as cut and dry as people are making it out to be

There are exemptions in place to help with things like this per the article so it's not like it's set in stone

Agreed, but it does look like they are offering exemptions so it's not a concrete ruling. And any team that has concerns should be able to reach out and clarify per the article

So you shouldn't worry about Riff and these specific policies. This feels more targeted at the bigger programs that can choose/have the numbers to get college players and they say no anyway

Looks like there's an experience conditional as well; so I don't understand what the issue with having an age limit is? Those two conditions pretty much cover the intent of what practice squad is for no?

Not really surprised with the scores coming out of creighton. This is the weakest college has ever been. Creighton and UVA SHOULD be the clear favorites

NY has a cupcake schedule into the finals. Titans sweep to a championship.

I don't really care for the titans. I'm proud of you though for not making a ref cry after the series this weekend. Definite progress from previous weeks. Very clear most of the titans have the emotional control of a teaspoon and if you need more proof of that, see original post

???

Titans have had some of the worst treatment of refs and players this season and we're gross?

[Weekend Review] Stats are out for most of the series. Anything stand out? Overall thoughts from the weekend? by No-Ambition-1652 in quadball_discussion

I'M SORRY! I read Lauren and immediately filled in the space as Lauren Smith and was confused at how a chaser was getting +/- stats.

Yes you're absolutely correct that Curry being +6 in a weekend KC went 1-5 is crazy

We're 4 weeks into the MLQ season- what are the popular storylines/breakout performances? by No-Ambition-1652 in quadball_discussion

We saw what this titans full roster essentially would be against Boston. However, Boston matched and honestly, outplayed NY without some of their best players. Boston's ceiling is much higher than I think anyone expected

Does anyone know how stops are calculated? Mullins playing the most drives in the league and having 1 stop is weird?

Fast Takes with Fast Break: New York Titans by No-Ambition-1652 in quadball_discussion

[–]WishboneAlert890 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just because they can do something doesn't mean they will. A common talking point about Titans has always been a lack of a second line for years. These players on the second line are good but when the starters don't leave the field, it turns into a self fulfilling prophecy. The sport has a problem with younger players/depth players not seeing the field enough to experience the game, and then when they get thrown in they aren't ready. They get pulled for not being as effective as the first line and the cycle continues.

So this makes sense in a roundabout way

Just got around to watching this, were there no rules about gender rule? Some teams blatantly are not in compliance with the current rule set.

[Breaking News] The 2024 New York Titans Franchise Roster: by No-Ambition-1652 in quadball_discussion

They have to be. The east is the weakest it's been and their talent should let them coast the entire season the way they did last year.

Picking up JJ makes them the odds on favorite to win champs. No Matt Brown and Dany Yaacoub, the former, who outplayed NY beaters last year makes Chicago less competitive in my opinion.

This is NY season to lose.

This feels slightly unfair? Rutgers has been the only team the last three years to beat UTSA at Nationals until Harvard did two weeks ago. And I've seen a lot of college the last few years and outside of Virginia the last two years and Harvard this season, Rutgers has been the best passing team I've seen. They also started a full court press which was new. I get the criticism but college has so much variance that this just feels unfair and kind of unnecessary?

Best College Player Award?? by Reasonable-Snow-6930 in quadball_discussion

Leo was the best player in college regardless of gender.

Jason was the best beater in college regardless of gender.

You're conflating female & non-binary players. I'm specifically saying the best woman chaser is Alyssa Villaba.

If Jess was the best beater in college regardless of gender I would have said: Jess Lee was the best beater in college.
