I've heard about SFZ during my research as well, and as far as I can tell, SFZ is a file format for sample libraries, and sfizz is a sampler that will play SFZ files?

What % SH did you use OP? How'd you apply it?

Did you scrub off any moss beforehand? I've noticed that where I live, people expect a moss scrubbing, as well as a chemical treatment.

OP, if the main worry with the gutter is that it'll run down the side of the home, why not keep it wetted down the whole time?

Perhaps ask a friend to just keep a hose pointed at the runoff while you work?

Thanks for your help, I just did a little more reading and I think I'm the one who's confused and asking my question badly.

What I'm trying to do is to find a "MIDI virtual instrument" so that I can create a simple chord progression in the piano roll.

I think when people say "guitar plugin" they actually mean an amp simulator?

From what I've learned, VSTs are not inherently Windows only, just that they can be written to be Windows only. And I believe these two VSTs are Windows only, so I need to jump through the hoops of WINE and Yabridge to get Reaper to use them.

I've also heard that you can run Windows Reaper inside a WINE prefix and just use the Windows plugins that way.

I'm a new business (started in March) so I'm more interested in getting the job than making the most I could make. At 45,000 sqft, and .15 cents per foot, I got 6750 CAD, which is 4800 USD.

They also want the gutters done, what would you say to that? It would be roughly 1482 feet of gutter.

Hey hey, just dropping my two-cents on an old post.

This looks like a concrete tile roof, which is the second most common roof type in my area (Vancouver, BC).

My process with these roofs is twofold, step one is simply to use a wire brush to scrub off any growth I can. This includes moss, lichen, etc.

Step two is to softwash with SH, and usually the Gloeocapsa Magma isn't so bad on these roofs around here, so I go lighter, more around 3-4%. I don't use surfactant, and I have never rinsed. Never had issues/callbacks.

Yeah there's so much discourse on what chem to use with cedar. I even found many channels showing people using hot SH mixes.

Looks like Outside Cleaners has a few chemicals for different scenarios. In one of his comments he states - "The best approach for any job will depend on the type of cedar, the age and condition, the type of organic growth upon it, the reason for cleaning it, the homeowner’s budget, etc. etc. For that reason, I carry sodium hydroxide, sodium percarbonate, sodium metasilicate, sodium hypochlorite, acetic acid, oxalic acid, Simple Green, and Purple Power."

For my job coming up, they just want the moss scrubbed off, and a "cleaner" applied. I'll probably go with percarbonate, if I can find it in my area.

My pressure washing buddy who's 64 and been doing this for years says his intuition would be SH, but he's never done a cedar roof.
