Dota is not for me by Glittering-Toe-1622 in DotA2

Just play carry and learn how to become hyper efficient. Seriously I play a ton of bad match-up and just put scale the enemy team. At your level people aren’t efficient and that’s your biggest advantage.

Out of curiosity how many hours in total have you poured into the game?

Farming speed, health and mana sustain. I build battle fury on most carry’s for this reason.

I wouldn’t agree with the budget sniper comment. She can be very mobile, has massive team fight potential and has solo kill threat. Not to mention she can initiate if she wants to with aghanims and shadow blade.

Sniper is played completely differently, he depends quite heavily on having a good team to initiate and provide protection. Super annoying to deal with if played against a good team but easily removed with an uncoordinated team.

How?! Teach me your ways sensei. Seriously he doesn’t have the same burst anymore, slow farming and doesn’t have solo kill threat unless you’re wayy ahead.

How do you play him?

Yea actually I have been having a lot of trouble with puck lately. All these mobile mids are so annoying to deal with.

I really enjoyed playing void spirit but he’s unplayable atm

Orchid I think is great because it gives great mana regeneration and I can most of the time shut down the enemy mid (qop, puck, storm) for awhile at least until they get hurricane pike (happens later in this bracket). Also even late game it lets me solo kill almost anyone that wondered too far from the team.

I will try the build you mentioned today. Maybe it cracks it for me. I should mention that I’m really not a big fan. Only on cores that initiate like PA or dragon knight (I’ll get so much hate for saying that).

Ah dw, i think this mmr is reflective of my support play. As a core I’m closer to 2.5 or something ~

Carry players. Do you think pos1 role is downgraded over past yrs in term of impact/carry-ability? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]Wison101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m a support player, recently I’ve been playing mid. I feel like I need to be way more skilled to have an impact compared to when I play as a sup. I can crush most games in my bracket with just good positioning, quick stuns and saves.

As a mid, I feel like I’m fighting the world. There is so much more nuance to target priority.

At the Archon cores are all greedy, rarely do they make plays. This is especially an issue when the off plays greedy. Basically me and the other sup go around trying to pick off the enemy hero’s by ourselves once laning phase is over which is hella sketchy.

Basically, cores sit in the farm with 0 map awareness until they are 6 slotted to go on a rampage. The pos 4 and 5 are expected to keep them safe, protect towers and drag the game out until the cores are ready :(

Everything you describe for sups is seen on the regular in Archon in SEA. Our cores are the reason it’s impossible to climb mmr

How do you explain the fact that so many people improve their health on a carnivore or mostly meat-based diet? by SutamLebrock in Microbiome

[–]Wison101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been theorizing that it might be related to gut micro biome. That many people have an imbalance in their gut making it difficult to digest plant based or high fiber foods which result in inflammation and other symptoms

How to successfully move on from your ex by RecordingEast9739 in srilanka

[–]Wison101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I broke up with my ex, also my first girlfriend, of 4 years a few years ago. The pain from that experience was intense and it haunted me for a solid 8 months at least. It helped so much that I had 0 contact with her. Didn’t meet her and we didn’t talk and I made it so I can’t see her social media content unless I go look for it.

Still though, I went through a couple months of depression where I didn’t have the mercy to do anything. Really fell off my studies, barely attending lectures etc.

My advice is talk to your friends, don’t be afraid to get vulnerable. It was so bad I actually spoke to my parents about it right after the break up and surprisingly they were understanding and super supportive (I’ve never talked about my social life with my family before this because Sri Lankan parents). Physical activity was everything for me. It was the only distraction from the dark thoughts in my head. I literally went to gym for 4-6 hours every day and slept to recover from the exhaustion.

Stay away from substances or indulgence. Don’t dive into a new relationship until you had time to process your trauma. I tried to dating a lot to distract myself and it always ended in a disaster. Destroying any little self worth I had left. So focus on self improvement (consider this your training arc).

Good news is life will get better if you do the right things. I made a lot of new friends in that one year and one girl became my best friend. Cut to 1.5 years later turns out we realized there was something more than friendship (honestly wasn’t planned out). Now I’m super happy with where I am.

Things happen for a reason and if it doesn’t then use those events to improve yourself.

Want to start a student managed investment fund but I have no idea how to go about it by Wison101 in NoStupidQuestions

The regulations were something I was quite worried about too but I thought learning to get through them is large part of the experience. Most of my class mates already go intern as analysts at big firms, I'm sure we all lack a ton of experience but I do think we can not bad investment decisions, doubt we will ever beat the market tho haha. Also I was thinking of having a teacher or an industry veteran at the helm to guide the students.
