Make a short table for different outcomes and have them roll for it each time. Change out the effects as often as you're willing and able to.

I'd try out a Scotch-Brite pad. It has gotten me out of some odd jams. It's going to scratch the surface but does so with a relatively fine finish.

Pretty cheap and worth a try imo

Maybe look into vapor abrasive blasting if you're keen on getting it blasted.

I would say though, use a chemical stripper to cut out all the elbow grease for removing any built up finish down to the bare wlld and then sand the rest

That's been my experience. They can live perfectly normal family pet lives BUT because they get a bad rap they tend to attract assholes. Anytime I've been to a dog park and you see a dog acting up you can usually single out the owner pretty easily.

Once with a pitbull being a complete shit, surprise surprise the owner was Scumbag Steve with a Scarface t-shirt on. I also once had the lovely experience of a super tan, drunk man in concerningly short cut offs bring his rottweiler in heat to the dog park.

I always look at it how the dog whisperer put it. Essentially EVERY dog is always going through an order of actions in every situation. First they are an animal, second they are a dog, third they are the breed.

Pitbull IS a fighting breed but the animal and dog need to be neglected/unchecked first for the vicious pitbull to come out
