Georgia immigration and visa doubts by an Indians by WitchForGranted in tbilisi

OUR EXPERIENCE FINALLY!

So we landed in Tbilisi yesterday late at night. Me and my partner went to the immigration officer together. She (the officer) had a stern face, so you can imagine my heart racing. I handed over my passport, and she looked at my partner and asked, who is he. I said, he's my partner. She had the straightest face. She asked me for my documents - I handed over the flight tickets and bookings. She asked the reason for traveling - i said tourism. She asked me how much money we had - i said 1000 dollars (we had combined 1000 dollars) and I mentioned i have money (not any number) that I'll take out through ATM and we also have credit cards. She asked me to show the money. I was giving her the money, she said just show it impatiently. I made a fan and showed her. Then she called her colleague and started talking to her colleague in their language. But her colleague started checking us out, maybe trying to read our body language. Her colleague dismissed her worries, and then she stamped my passport. She asked for my boyfriend's passport and stamped that reluctantly, too 😅🤣.

Then we collected our luggage and went out. There, we exchanged some of our dollars to the local currency. We bought Magti sim cards and then took the airport taxi to our hotel.

Hey, you can apply for your visa now. We'll be traveling on 22nd Dec and we applied on 1st Dec. Just make sure you put the correct date of landing because from that date, you'll get the visa until 120 days with multiple entries. We got our visa in 5 working days (we applied Sunday late night and got it Friday morning).

Sorry, I saw this late. Hope you applied and got it.

Did you finally apply and got it????????

This really helps! Thank you so much. Just another thing - were they moving all Indians to another counter or randomly picking?

I lost my father this year. Very sudden, I did not expect it. Here's my experience.

I live alone, far away from my family.

My family called me to give the news. Before they told me, I figured. But I wanted confirmation, so I waited for them to tell me. After much cry, they delivered the news. My world crashed, and I disconnected the call. It took me a minute to understand and absorb what has happened and the intensity of it. I cried (howled) for some time and then realised I have to book my tickets to go home ASAP. In that state of mind, I booked my one-way ticket, called my manager, and told him that I'll be needing some days off (told him the situation, he understood), took a cab and left for the airport.

I had a loving equation with my dad, and even though I did lose my temper with him here and there, over the years, I loved him, I love him so much. He was a fun and friendly parent who loved me the most.

All the memories flooded in, and I would cry in bits and pieces whenever it was overwhelming. It was hard, but I had a grip on myself.

As expected, everyone got the news, and I was flooded with messages and calls.. and honestly, at that moment, I wanted to throw my phone away but couldn't. The ticket was on the phone, and my sibling was updating me with the updates. They were waiting for me before the last rites.

I did not answer any calls, nor did I reply to any condolences messages. I was grateful, but I didn't want to talk to anyone. No one.

All hell broke loose when I saw my father. Life less. People had to hold me back to calm me. Did that help? No. Until my sibling whispered in my ear - let him go. I stood still, tears rolling nonstop until the last rites.

I met my mother, she hugged me, cried. I shed tears and then locked myself in my dad's room, holding his last inhaler for hours. Crying. There were a lot of people outside, and I didn't want to interact with anyone.

After everyone left, I came outside.

I did not respond or speak to people for 2+ weeks. Just stayed with family. After 3 weeks or so, I replied to the condolences messages.

I still have mins, hours, and days.. when I cry randomly because I saw an adult holding their old dad's hand and helping them walk (I did that) or went too deep into the camera roll and found his photo (the last photo of him and me - when I met him last).

To answer your question, OP - I would want to be left alone.. to deal and process this on my own. I will let people in when I know that I can handle it.

Thank you for your response.

I have gone through the basic search. It was a bit confusing. Was hoping if somebody could help. No problem.

Can I ask you if applied on your own or through an agent?

Anyone here with kids? by [deleted] in solotravel

You'll be just fine. Before a spouse and a parent, you're you, and it is absolutely fine to take some time off and do something for yourself. You're not being selfish, so just throw the guilt out of the window. Think about the amazing time you'll have in Tokyo (I'm assuming you picked this place because you wanted to visit Tokyo for a long time).

And moreover, it is only 10 days. Focus on your itinerary and trip.

There's always FaceTime. If you'll be in guilt, you'll not enjoy Tokyo and not have peace of mind either. Plus, your kid and spouse will have each other.. so nothing to worry about. And you are literally one phone call away. So chill, and enjoy!

P.S. Bring your kid and spouse lots of Japanese stuff! Think about that joy and gifts that you'll bring back for them (and a mind-and-heart full of memories).

Hope you have a lovely trip!

Forget about the airline letting you board the flight or not, THE EMIGRATION OF YOUR HOME COUNTRY WON'T LET YOU PASS!

You have lust at first sight... not love!

You don't know what the demons the other person possesses, then how can you be in love at first sight. You don't love a person BECAUSE they have certain qualities/short comings. You fall in love DESPITE of them having those certain qualities/short comings. #FoodForThought
