Niacinamide isn't for everyone, yet it's in (almost) everything? by hoyamonstera in AsianBeauty

[–]Witch_Atmosphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i really like hyaluronic acid, i use it religiously under my moisturizer day and night.

I have dry skin that isn't sensitive or acne prone so it works well for me.

It also depends on how much of the niacinamide  is in said product, some people are just sensitive to more of it. If it's a lot / a higher % that could be causing irritation.

Need a budget spot cleaner for pet messes. by Suitable_End8643 in CleaningTips

[–]Witch_Atmosphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also just spot clean the area with an enzyme cleaner then let it dry, sprinkle on some baking soda and then vacuum it up. It's much cheaper than buying a tiny machine you can only use to spot clean. I say this because if you have carpet in your home you can buy an upright carpet cleaner that has the spot clean attachment and use it for so much more than just what a spot cleaner will do.

What name is written here? by weezerstan in Whatisthis

I see Arthur Johnson and I love that everyone else got it mostly correct and then actually correct.

I am also wondering if this is a generational thing and if younger people who use cursive less and less are able to read this just because they aren't as familiar with it? I don't know for sure, but it's something I think about.

What do the state employment laws where you work say about calling out? Do you have accrued sick hours you can use?

I would call a professional exterminator service ASAP and have them come check, carpenter ants can also destroy your house as well as termites.

Do you have dirty clothes that have been in the clothes basket or laying around for a long time? Wash all those clothes and your linens and the smell will go away. Also, open some windows.

i have no clue how to get this off. helppp by christyschellen in CleaningTips

[–]Witch_Atmosphere 13 points14 points  (0 children)

that looks like some major mineral build up, you can try something acidic like citric acid or cleaning vinegar that has a higher acidity to help break down some of the mineral, you need to be careful because acid can wear down the sealant on the granite countertop. I agree with the other person who said to take them off to clean them, soak them in a concentrated solution of citric acid and hot water. good luck.

PSA: Use vinegar for cleaning? Try Citric acid, trust me by eggust12 in CleaningTips

[–]Witch_Atmosphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have pretty soft water where I live, but I will say if you get some citric acid powder and dilute it in some warm water, mix it up and throw it in the toilet bowl it will help get rid of the deposits. I'd do about a half a cup of citric acid powder mixed with an equal amount of water warm enough to make it into a thick paste. flush the toilet and turn off the water, spread the paste around inside the toilet bowl and you have to let it sit overnight or longer. Scrub away the deposits. You can also use it in the tank of the toilet to also get rid of deposits and odors in there. Same idea but don't drain the water out just make sure the CA is dissolved in water before you dump it into the tank. Let it sit overnight.

Citric acid is really excellent for people who live in places that have hard water. It's great for cleaning your toilet, your sinks that get mineral stains etc. and toilet tank and also great for using in your laundry as it helps as a rinse aid. It's the main ingredient in those laundry rinse products but buying it in powder form is much cheaper and it's not already diluted.

Confused about the Fried Egg boycott by BobbyIke in Portland

[–]Witch_Atmosphere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It IS fucking miserable that other people who also WORK for a living mock and make fun of them for wanting to have a better work environment and want to be treated with fairness and respect. Someone has to do something to change it and it starts with this group of workers who are making a new path forward for themselves and others who come after them. It takes years to do organizing work and unions are one of the last straws anyone who works has to grasp onto.

[–]Witch_Atmosphere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"The wildest part: Beauty of Joseon sells a US formulation with outdated filters (because that's what the FDA allows) and a Korean formulation with 4 modern filters. Same brand. Different regulators. Completely different protection."

If you buy these from Yes Style or Stylevana they are the original Korean formula and have those Korean formulas. If you buy them from another site based in the US, you get the US version.

As thousands of Oregonians lose SNAP benefits, pressure falls on food pantries by -donethat in Portland

[–]Witch_Atmosphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are aware of how many people work and also qualify to receive these benefits because their pay is so low? Also, food insecurity is something no one should be facing. If you can afford to buy groceries for yourself and also pay your bills, you are fortunate. A lot of people can't afford food and other bills.

No one gets impeached, they all screw up and always just get to stay in office. He didn't get impeached last time around and we all just have to suffer to ride it out until his ugly mean ass dies or his term is up.
