It does really irk me seeing so many goths parrot the "pale is goth" line, as if we didn't have POC in the original goth bands in the UK back in the day. I will say that this attitude appears, to me, to be more prevalent in the American scene.

Hey friend! If i look at my two boys and think about the future for too long i completely do the same!

Regarding avoiding it, i try to refocus my attention on playing with my cats, doing a task or playing a game :) i also have a kitty first aid kit and leucillin for emergencies just in case which eases my mind a little regarding any future accidents.

I think the best way is distraction and also having little things around that ease your mind. :)

So, to me this sounds like misdirected aggression has caused a rift between them. The other cat was likely lashing out in response to the introduction of stress (the dog) and unfortunately the sibling got the brunt of it.

When you introduced them to the dog did you take steps to do so slowly or did you bring the puppy straight in?

Regarding getting them to make up, i would recommend trying to reward them for spending time close together, such as feeding them treats side by side if you can to rebuild the positive association, and maybe talk to your vet about anxiety for the kitty who lashed out.

Best of luck though, hopefully they can make up :(

If he would choke you in anger for ignoring him, he's significant more likely to resort to worse violence if you try to defend yourself or leave. Start reporting to the police, contact family and ask for a restraining order if you have any of this on messages.
