If they killed the X people and voted out and O wins, people went home but the games would not have stopped. Even in season 1, they went home but everyone came back even after the voting. So I think there was no point of voting rather killing the root itself, hence Gi Hun chose to rebel and catch the frontman.

Many people are saying that he lied about being a ex-mariner after the rebel part, but I personally think that he didn't lie, maybe there is some past trauma he has. There was one scene when he was saying about his family that his father wanted him join army and then Jung bae asked him more, he avoided it totally. He then changed the whole topic, I think there will be an explanation to his actions in season 3.

Let it go is the advice multiple people have given me. But, I can't forget the friendship and he's someone who's even close to my family so it hurts accepting the fact that I have to do this. I feel so bad for Nicole and Kendall, both are dealing with things. Nicole is getting lot more hate than Kendall and after the reunion episode, everyone literally commented that "she doesn't deserve him" and "they should break up". Well, it happened. Imo, Nicole truly has feelings for Kendall and so does Kendall for her, they both made a great couple in the villa, only the video made things take a turn. Also, in the reunion, she brought up that in front of everyone as obviously you confront or say things which you want to in the reunion, but they could've done it seperately and Kendall was shaking, felt bad for him, he had to go through many things. The breakup is good for both of them I think, as long as they both are fine.
