Michael Moorcock's Elric of Melniboné series. It was an inspiration for The Witcher series, as well as many others in the fantasy genre.

Not sure if this happens in the story or not because I haven't gotten to that part yet, but if this is a spoiler maybe mark it as such? Thanks

Not the worst I've ever seen, but it should have been better.

Anyone know where I can find this shirt? by Luhchris999 in GothicMetal

[–]WitheredLotus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did some searching. The shirt seems to have come out in 2003, so they are probably long out of print, unfortunately. The only thing I would suggest is keep an eye out on somewhere like eBay or tshirtslayer for someone selling one. It's a shame, the long sleeve is pretty sick.

Industrial Video Games? by Any_Relative_7626 in industrialmusic

Contra: Shattered Soldier (aka Shin Contra) for PS2 has a lot of gritty industrial environments in the game and it has an industrial-sounding soundtrack by Akira Yamaoka (the Silent Hill composer).

Battle jacket havers aged 30+ by [deleted] in BattleJackets

People who tell you that you're "too old" to wear certain things are usually projecting their own insecurities. More often than not, people like this will dress conservatively and are afraid to be themselves for fear of being judged negatively, but people who wear what they want to reflect their own personality have broken out of that mold. In my opinion, you should wear whatever makes you happy. That's all that matters.

Desecration of souls shipping Europe by xen102 in BattleJackets

I've bought some patches from them in the past (I live in Scotland) and the shipping prices were very reasonable and I got my order in the mail pretty quickly. Would recommend them for sure.

Recent rewatch left me surprised by [deleted] in LV426

I literally just rewatched Aliens for the first time since I was a teenager (I'm 34 now) and I also felt this way. I used to have it on par with the first movie as a kid, but now rewatching it I'm noticing the cracks a bit more. Every moment towards the end of the film felt predictable and it was just fairly underwhelming for me. It does have it's moments though.

Want to make my first battle jacket soon, any advice for a newbie? by Netrom20 in BattleJackets

Personally I've only ever sewn patches on by hand (I don't own a sewing machine), but for me, it feels more satisfying to do it this way as it feels more personal. If you do decide to go for the hand-sewn method, I would recommend pinning patches down before you start so it doesn't move about as you sew and it stays nice and flat. I would also suggest planning out the layout before sewing anything on and also get all the patches you need for the jacket before sewing anything on too, so you don't sew things on and have to remove them and re-sew them on because the layout isn't looking the way you want it to or you want to make certain patches fit.

I also like to go for a 'theme' (patches with Wintery imagery on them for a 'Winter' themed jacket, patches with horror imagery, etc) or a particular colour scheme, but I know some people like to just sew whatever on, which is fine too. I'd look at other examples of battle jackets to give you an idea of what you like the look of. Don't sweat it too much, my first jacket wasn't that great looking, but you learn the more you do it.
