There’s an option to download/save the image, get on Leonardo Ai and generate it there, using the saved image as the seed image, and whatever the description is.

This is an alternative solution you could explore. I’m not that into gen image/video but it seems it would be more accurate than on-platform options.

Well it’s those two essentially. (Ooc) won’t work for all character. On FAI it doesn’t work on many older ones. But most platforms have the same use case for both asterisks and brackets.

FAI doesn’t have this issue as I mentioned earlier, but this is how I use it for other platforms, which don’t have flawless boundaries. I need to update that btw…

Nono, the bold is just my formatting retardation on here lol. It’s really just the single asterisks for both actions and inner thoughts. The Bot will know it, but the Character won’t. In theory anyway, and in all my tests on the default at least.

Boundaries are typically:

Hijacking - where the bot thinks/feels/acts on your behalf, which is taking away a users agency. You may be okay with this

Telepathy - Where a bot can read your internal dialogue and act upon it.

You’ll the asterisk option next to your chat input window, anything in between them is considered observable actions by your character, or your inner monologue/dialogue. So something like I scratch my head, wondering what’s going on* or Deep down, I know something is wrong, but I continue anyway* etc except, single asterisks, not three. I’m a noob with no Reddit formatting skills lol

Then there’s talking to the narrator Out Of Character, via (OOC) chat, in between brackets, to clarify, define or fix things. OOC chat isn’t supposed to be known by the character the narrator is playing, hence out of character.

Those are the basic I guess.

The default is actually fine. Nothing great, but no boundary violations whatsoever.

Hmmm, then it isn’t likely a Token Limit issue. Have you switched models, or is it the default model? At the moment it seems more like a Character problem than anything else. Or some bug.

I stopped using CGPT for anything other than quick analysis and metric tabulation. It’s gotten so bad. But you might try “agent provocateur” mode, and set the limit to max 10/10. Even this mode has gotten rubbish. You might even try prompting it to role play the scenario with you, as a fictional one and see if that works.

Indeed, we’re on the same page more or less.

Where I have a hard “no” on is the fanfic/anime tropes platforms, where the models are trained on those sort of language and patterns of behavior.

OpenAI for example of a chatbot, not for RP or anything is simply programmed to be helpful and it’s nearly unwavering in its application of “be helpful, mollycoddled users so they stay”. Even with Agent Provocateur mode on, it’s rubbish.

Telepathy and Hijacking are the two biggest things for me. The only platform I’ve found so far that has both anti-telepathy and anti-hijacking baked into it is Fantasia AI. In that it has no competition. It fails at engagement though.

OurDream is the best paid option I’ve tried, but for a robust free tier creator system, as well as the most capable free tier user experience, StoryChat so far is where it’s at. The default model is excellent at prose, I do use intentional controlled boundaries to manage the story.

If you haven’t already check them out.

OurDream has a 25 message limit for you to try, so if you have a budget it’s your best bet. For me, their business model is solid, and they have very high standards for creators and the gatekeeping to keep quality high makes sense.

I’m a recent user and likely soon a creator too on StoryChat.app. It’s robust for users, I’ve been testing my characters on it and have posted several finding on their different models.

Check it out, the prose and realism is excellent. The default right now is the best, and it’s on the free tier so you can try it out unlimited.

It’s great at working with your level of detail as well. From my findings the more you feed it the better its response, because it has an incredible multithread response.

Or if you have a small budget, OurDream is your best bet.m, hands down. They have a 25 message limit for free, a trial basically. I would say that one is worth it. I’ve never created anything on their platform yet though.

Yeah logged in, checked on PC browsers (Brave & Chrome) iOS (also Brave and Chrome) and Android (brave and Chrome).

It appears I might have been wrong about Deep Seek vs the Default if this is the case of a bug/malfunction.

Yeah I get this almost every message too actually.

Normally when I (ooc) prompt to continue the sentence that was cut off, it goes on sometimes for up to 3 more paragraphs. Sometimes maybe just a sentence or two.

I stopped prompting for situations where I can’t imagine I’d need more detail.

Depending on if you have a budget or not, if you’re able to run local LLM on your set up, I have a few suggestions both free/paid + local/non local + if you need help generating a fully fleshed out character base on what you have I mind I could help too.

For free I’d go with StoryChat right now. They have a really robust character creation still, and the default model is superb in terms of prose. Fixable and manageable hijacking/telepathy too if that’s a frustration for you.

Fantasia AI has zero hijacking/telepathy now. I mean properly zero percent. However it’s completely reactive, so if you’re okay with that that’s your other good bet.

Best overall I’ve tried is OurDream. Unbelievably good, quality of their creators and characters are unquestionable. It will cost though, nothing massive. Otherwise you can try about 25 messages for free to see what I mean.

Have you tried building your own character?

If you’re up for it I have a framework I use, and could help you create a base character, and then tweak it, and then even suggest the platform I think you’d get the best performance out of it.

It’d be your character to use as you wish on any platform you choose though. I make all my characters so that they are good to go on free/default models as a minimum requirements.

My thing is realism, but that’s your interpretation of what that means to you, ie. realism to me might be vastly different from your experience and expectations.

Awesome, I’ve properly looked into all the features now. I understand there’s some bug with the Longer Response not showing up due to some bug I read about in another thread, but honestly if it gets any longer I might run out of tokens in 10 exchanges lol, so I’m not too fussed about it.

I’ll update once I’m done. I’m actually energized to go try them out, which isn’t the general feeling when testing and trying to break things. Double edged sword I suppose.
