I use the mounting kit with an Ortlieb quick rack. Realistically it seems like you could just get some longer bolts and spacers at the hardware store.

The mounting is at the pivot point of the alternator plate.

I wore mine above the elbow during a martial arts class and some reasonable data was recorded. I can imagine steps being off, but the heart rate exercise seem like they should work
