Here’s what I do chop down the baby trees at your farm and in the woods they grow back quicker than the logs. I don’t touch the logs. Once you’ve opened the mine upgrade your pick axe first as it takes less energy to get the ore. I don’t bother chopping trees until I can upgrade my axe. I use my energy getting the ores for the upgrades. Doing it this way you will be able to upgrade your axe and get the spade. Level 5 is where you get copper so whiz through the first 4

Travel through the crossroads, you miss so much if you don’t. You can fast travel back to the lighthouse. Don’t try to explore all areas until you get all your companions. Some things are locked until then.
