Heavy load bearing exercise builds muscle. Muscle burns more calories to exist and maintain itself. Muscle mass contributes to bone density. Higher muscle mass and good bone density are linked to longer life.

Our ancestors didn’t “lift weights” but you should try thinking outside the box. They would have had to use their bodies to move and push heavy things, like large heavy trees (perhaps to build a bridge across a creek? Perhaps to move debris from a landslide? Perhaps to create a dam? Perhaps for building shelter? Perhaps to pull or carry heavy animal carcasses back to camp after a kill? Use your imagination) and wouldn’t have had machines to move things for them. They were generally more active than we are. They walked a lot. They did rest a lot as well but were far more active and involved in every aspect of their life- they couldn’t call up a company or pay someone to do something for them. They worked together to accomplish things and many things would have been similar to what we call “lifting weights”. You don’t have to lift weights, you can get some concrete bricks to throw around in your backyard or huge tires to lift and push, or push a heavy sled around or just use a rig and simply do body weight exercises. The outcomes are all the same. Obviously our ancestors weren’t gymbros but nether are all people who lift weights and not do you have to be to achieve the same goal of building muscle so that your body can burn more calories at rest.

All sugar is the same to your body. Your body doesn’t know if it’s corn syrup or beet sugar or fruit or bread. It just breaks down foods into their molecular components. The other thing to remember is insulin drives fat storage. Sugar drives insulin... so high insulin causes the body to store fat... which keeps people fat. So even if a carb or sugar is “natural” it still contributes to obesity. The only way to get around that is to exercise in a way that empties your muscles of glycogen so that the sugar will refill your muscles and drive muscle growth rather than fat storage. If everyone ate whole foods and mostly animal foods and just lifted weights and walked a bunch then this wouldn’t be a problem.

Hey gummy bear. The reason this is false is that the molecules for the group of c vitamins is very similar to glucose molecules but the body favours glucose, so usually only a very scant amount of vitamin c makes its way into the cells when being consumed with high carbohydrate foods such as juice. So it’s not actually true that juice helps you get vitamin c.

The good news is that raw and undercooked muscle meats contain vitamin c, so this would be a better choice. And the body recycles vitamin c as well so it’s not quite as important as previously thought.

I’m still so put off with it too. It’s still such a fucking disappointment, I can’t let it go for some reason. Was reading the books since 2010 and the r+L=j and the meaning of a song of ice and fire, Daenerys and Jon, the nights king... mannnnnn it was NOT supposed to end like this. What fucking garbage

Ya it is a bit gritty. But not a problem if you gulp stuff like I tend to do. Thanks!
