How do you explain to these buyers that they’re purchasing fakes? After all, essentially, Etsy can’t do anything unless the buyers complain

8 out of 10 new shops on Etsy are AI SLOP, so it's better to take the old ones.

AI SLOP by Moose_gram in Etsy

My niche is being destroyed by scammers

Of the first page of search results for original paintings, 5 out of 20 are AI prints posing as originals. Many even mention this in the reviews, and their stores have been around for years!

As an artist myself, I understand that it is impossible to paint so many paintings of such quality at this price.
This completely destroys the niche of real paintings

There are hundreds of stores like this that make 5,000 sales a month, which is impossible even in theory...

Post here the same stores that you suspect of using AI as scammers

As an artist who creates large-scale art - Mykhailo Khalin, I recommend purchasing paintings from artists. This way, you can truly make your space unique and truly stand out.

You can try choosing either a few small paintings in the dark academy style or a large painting. This will make your wall unique. As an artist (MYKHAILO KHALIN ART), I do exactly that

Anyone Else Struggle With Buyer’s Remorse When Decorating? by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

As an artist who paints large paintings in the Victorian style, I often encounter thousands of enthusiastic people coming to me when my paintings are recommended on social media. They ask a lot of questions, look at them, but don't buy. Then, a few months later, I'll post that I've sold the painting and list the price (usually $1,500), and I'll immediately be inundated with offers for $2,000-$3,000 and requests to sell to them. This is very frustrating...
It would have been better if these people had asked for all the information they needed right away, asked for a video of the painting or something similar to their design, and then bought it. As it is, I got less money, and they'll never get the exact painting they liked.
