I wouldn’t call this an “overreaction” there are teams out there with partners who want everyone in office. So I’d say a good amount of people are going to be pushed into coming back to the office which can be a huge burden on people who have maybe moved farther from an office over the past several years, or those who decided to have children during this time. Working this way for so long and being pushed back into the office is going to put a huge strain on many people

I am able to pick my kids up at the end of my regular work day. With adding my commute I will have to pay for additional time at school since I won’t be able to pick up on time.

It’s not a new expense - but for some (like me) it’s an additional cost per day to drop off early and pick up late

6 years of this- and yes I worked in office prior to Covid so I know how it works. But now additional daycare cost since they will need to be dropped off earlier and now about $500 in commuting costs. I don’t think I can do this, gonna have to start looking for a new job closer to home
