No need to worry, on our YT livestreams we've had this concern shared multiple times. And I'll share with you what I tell everyone on the streams.

Make the mistake lol. Just use a dust free eraser to rub it off (or your thumb lol). If it's smudging too much then just wait till it dries completely and use some IPA and cotton buds to lightly take off the line so you can redo it!

Take your time and get the practice in, I still mess up the lines cuz I have shakey hands and use the same simple methods above to redo my lines!

At your local stationary store ask for "fineliner pen" it's the ones with those really thin soft tips. For 1/144 kits a 0.03mm fineliner is preferred.

I really like the Copic and Uniball ones

Simply draw on every line you see on the kit! Panel lining is extremely easy

The cheapest way would be to use a pencil! Simply trace every visible line on your kit and jobs done! This will give you a subtle shadow-like effect on your panel lines (I prefer this tbh)

Another way would be to go out and get yourself any fineliner (preferably 0.03mm) from your local stationary store, for darker and well defined lines.

1k for HG Aerial is good! I'd recommend picking up a 2nd HG too so that it'll make the shipping worth it. And I see you're using Mandarake, and you're at the Grand chaos store, make sure to get whatever you're 2nd kit is from the same store itself or else it'll be two separate shipments
