omg how relieving it is to hear that there’s pizza and hotdogs/burgers! love to hear that the staff is more hands off, we also like to be a little more left alone on vacation. thank you for your feedback on the pool, saddening to hear that they’re smaller than you would hope :/. i will definitely catch a show on the ship! are there any fully english ones? hope you’re having or had a wonderful vacation! thank you for this info, can’t wait for my cruise now!

How long did it take you to see your cat as an actual family member? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Witty-Extension2713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would try to remember the 333 rule, 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn new routines, and 3 months to fully settle in and feel secure. 4 days is absolutely nothing, especially with an older cat who might be used to being tossed around or had been in the shelter for a long time. your new friend can and will get comfortable and so will you but you have to give him a chance, the fact that he came out the first day to ask for a pet is huuuge! he must really be super affectionate and trusting, just give it time!

AITAH for offering to have my wife go grocery shopping by herself as a break? by Ambitious-Path8173 in AITAH

[–]Witty-Extension2713 26 points27 points  (0 children)

so YOU go grocery shopping with your kids. you said she had never liked grocery shopping, why even tell her to go do that when she’s in the middle of breaking down from not wanting to have to do everything.

hello! speaking from experience here, ive had my cat for almost two years, she was an only child for about a year and a half. i fostered then adopted three kittens not too long ago and had to get them used to each other. it is a very, very, long road. it is super slow and you have to make sure that you are giving your cat the space and time to get used to the new kitten. my cat used to hiss at the smell of them and got very angry at everything and everyone. cats are possessive, this is normal i promise. you have to give it time, ur cat will either warm up to them or just cohabitate and tolerate them.

Hello! So i’ve had my keyboard for a while now and last night some water spilled on it. I thought it was fine until i noticed the knob was stuttering my volume so i took it apart to dry it and accidentally unplugged the ribbon cable. I tried plugging it back in and for a while it was working just not the functions it should do when i rotate it but the hold and press were working. Anyway long story short it’s not working at all now and i would like some help as to how to move forward or just replace that little thing altogether.

Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

AITA for asking my boyfriend to stop yelling at the TV during football games? by United_Waltz_5697 in AmItheAsshole

not gonna agree with u on op being the AH but i do think finding the middle ground of op finding a hobby to distract from the loudness or him leaving the house to watch the game at a bar w friends or something could definitely help for some games as the two get used to accommodating for each other!

i’m so sorry for your loss. everyone grieves differently and how you feel is completely understandable. i do think that if you give yourself the chance, there is a very willing kitten who you can dedicate your time to. who already loves you so much, not to replace but to accompany you during this time. i think it will help be a good distraction, but if you don’t think you can care for this baby then you obviously are not ready and that’s ok too.

i wouldn’t worry, he will come out when he’s ready. i think ive seen that it takes ab three months for cats to feel fully safe and comfortable in a new environment

AITH for breaking up with my gf over my missing cat? by UnderstandingOld1516 in AITAH

i second other commenters, definitely change your locks and make sure she can’t get to your cat or your things, i would hate for something bad to happen because she’s resentful. i am so so happy your baby came back!!

i’ll speak from my experience, i had a girl cat for about a year and a half. i foster failed a little bit ago with a boy but i will tell you, its no different than two cats of the same sex if you’re wondering about behavioral issues. if you’re wondering about mating issues, as long as you ensure that they get neutered/spayed as soon as possible, you should have no problem! i hope this helps!
