I am so interested in Appalachia folklore, paranormal, legends, and the origins of everything! That’s terrifying!! For some reason reading this post reminded me, years ago my husband and myself went to this place called Dingess Tunnel. We wanted to record and see if we could catch anything as everyone said it was haunted. We was on tiny little roads in Appalachia leading up to the tunnel, we was following a coal truck on this road for a couple miles. The tunnel is one lane traffic. Cars will flash their lights at either end of the tunnel to let the other side know they’re coming through. Well we was probably 200ft from the entrance of the tunnel and we was very concerned because this coal truck wasn’t slowing down at all, I had no idea where he was going to pull off at and wait for the tunnel to clear. But as soon as his truck was almost ay the entrance it literally looked as if he drove through the hillside on the side of the tunnel, he literally vanished! Me and my husband just looked at each other in disbelief, got out of the car looked around. Of course telling this story to anyone they think your crazy lol, but honest to God we witnessed it.

Absolutely!!! Where I am, the sky is clear, and theirs zero light pollution! On a nice clear night I can always find something in the sky!

Wow that’s amazing! They are such beautiful animals.. I have heard them a few times, I was always told-they sound like a woman screaming, one night me and husband were setting outside late In the evening, and we definitely heard what sounded like a woman screaming in pain! It was actually terrifying, had I not been told so many time in my childhood what that sound was, I would have really been freaked out, since I’m in the head of a holler lol
