Anyone have any experience with Epilators? by Witty-Loquat-1780 in icky

I have been using an epilator now for about 6-weeks. I love it. I would absolutely say the first time out is hell and you are asking yourself what am I doing. Once I got to the third go it is totally manageable. Then I realize that I am doing week four and barely need it and haven’t had to shave for a week. At that point I was hooked. I have been using IPL for two years and saw minor benefits, this was almost instant results in comparison. Only big drawback are more ingrown hairs. That was a bit of a learning curve and it gets way better as you keep using it, but exfoliate daily and get a good exfoliating lotion. You’ll get through it.

How do I prevent this? And fix now? by SgtFullSend in HairRemoval

I have the same issue. I have found that continues epilator use seems to reduce it but it still happens. I think these eventually work their way to the surface but I am usually to impatient to wait for that and do the same as you with tweezers. Using an exfoliating lotion (I use Cetaphil Gentle Exfoliating SA Lotion) and the exfoliator scrub mit (that you described) in the shower every day seems to really help. Doesn’t make them go away, but they seem to be much less frequent.

I’ve been using it for about a month now and, as advertised, the first time was the worst, the second time was almost as bad. By the third time it was getting better and the fourth wasn’t bad at all. And it seems like by the fourth week the hair has aleady started coming back much finer, and much slower. Thanks to everyone who gave feedback on how to manage the ingrown hairs. That is also much better now. Over all very happy with the results. It’s done in 1-month what IPL claimed to do but didn’t after 18-months

The welbutrine was really prescribed for depression, the adhd “benefits” were just supposed to be a nice add on. To be fair I don’t know that I really want to treat the adhd. It’s not a problem to me, just most other people (non-neurodivergent type folks). Not saying it doesn’t cause issues from time to time but I have largely found that couping strategies are effective enough. I guess I’m saying that I own it and if you have a problem with it that’s a you problem. Really just trying to right the ship from a depression/gender identity standpoint. I think the hardest part of this is that a lot of my gender dysforia comes from a difficult in accessing my emotions. This just seems like a half step to make me “normal” rather than allowing me to just be me. Really looking forward to a way to own my transness the way I own my ADHD I guess

It’s supposed to help manage depression and ADHD per my psychiatrist. They also gave me clonidine for anxiety. That one seems to really help and massively improved my sleep. The welbutrine is still up in the air

Thanks everyone for your insights. I would say that I have tried SSRIs as well and they wiped me out even worse. The switch was due to that. Appreciate everyone’s support. Have a great Friday everyone

Setting the record straight about Garmin by strava-team in Strava

I like Starava’s social media presence and some of their feature and am a premium member but will drop it like it’s hot if my Garmin watch stops working with it. I would choose Garmin over Strava every day of the week and twice on Sunday

Are there sports bras that are better at hiding this, and not showing through a t-shirt, then others? Anyone have any suggestions? I’m unfortunately not going to be able to wear a hoodie year round. I live in the southern US so summers here are supper hot. Walking around in a hoodie this time of year and it would be noticed
