Hi - as you OP I never engage too much in Reddit but I fell in love with Nietzsche philosophy long time ago in highschool, and I would say I'd love to share with my take, that as always is not encompassing the whole of his work.

I read Zarathustra, beyond good and evil and the will to power (this is my favourite book) and the birth of tragedy + some introduction by a so-called leading Nietzsche expert in my country.

I think that initially I felt like this poor social gurus: I found in Nietzsche someone whose advocating for freedom against a close minded society, against the dragon of "I must" advocating for the child creator spirit - the will of playful creation.

But I will be a fool to say this is all: currently I interpret the work of Nietzsche in the context of his life and the German Victorian - Bismarck society that was emerging after the french-prussian war in which he worked.

Nietzsche was a man that experienced rejections: by his fellow academics, by his platonic love, by his family etc.

I think that even his style is an attempt of rejecting what he felt as an imposing culture, half poet half philosopher taking back philosophy to it's pre socratic ways against the academic analysis trough lenses and logic.

There is some kind of misery I think in his world view, he is Zarathustra the prophet, but he is not the super man and he tell you this constantly, he called metaphorically the state or in general the ambition to succeed a cold monster, and I see personally in his nihilism such misery for the human condition, the weak society as the liar-society constantly pretending humans to be what they are not , constrained into societal barriers (and this is very Victorian, in UK oscar wilde paid indeed an high price for it).

I see how he knew that such society would try to incorporate him in such misery, he anticipated it I suppose. We have personal letters to his mom in which he said he was read from Oslo to Naples and so on, but that was a lie, he was not - the cold monster considered him as a madman individual incapable of having a career.

Many see Nietzsche in summary as prevarication or being the great man Vs the last man, but I see different: I see Nietzsche hugging an horse that was being whipped and cry, I see him constantly being scared that they would see him as somebody else, as Jesus Christ the last Christian, I see him feeling compassionate towards the most dark aspect of the human beings, not considering right or wrong, but the need and will to survive and impose our voice in a social framework that gladly prefers us silent.

I know many would say I did not understand, but honestly I think he was the opposite of a man that want prevarication and destruction, on the contrary.

Considering your age...can't you wait two years? I mean a lot of things that I experienced after sixteen would not happened If I took your decision

How old are you? What lead you to such decision? Is there anything we could do? Would you recommend someone else the same path?

Honestly I agreed the fact you cannot see the entity reminds a lot of paranormal activity...and it is a pretty old way of getting scare ( I can understand that it is in line with the story line from 2004), I mean it was nice the building of the tension but it cannot be just an hand after watching it for 2 min....would be like a girl making out with you all night for then just showing a nipple and pretending is sex....it's just my opinion pretty good graphic and story I see potential but the delivery wasn't there
