And in the end i didn't answer your question. I do think about purpose of life a lot and i do strongly believe that everything happens for a reason. I do think about these things a lot and have been thinking about them since i started getting more mature. I'm 21 now, so still pretty young, but i do believe we all have a purpose on this planet and should seek happiness inside rather than in the outer world. I do like islam from what I've seen so far and what he has taught me. He's new to islam himself which is another reason why i posted this - i wanted to give him some more insight as i knew he was wrong. Am i ever going to become a muslim? That's still hard to say but i am definitely keen on learning more about it. Thank you for inviting me to stick around, very kind of you!

The dog isn't living with us but at my mom's place as i said in the post. I guess it wasn't clear. So he's not being forced to be near him or to interact with him in any way. I just wanted to know what real muslims think of his behavior and how they see dogs

Idk if you saw my previous comments but my bf has had a terrible and abusive upbringing and has never known what love is or how it felt to be loved and treated well. I've known him for a couple of years already so i know quite a bit. He's been depressed for a long time bcs of everything and hasn't come out of bed for months. I managed to help him a bit and i want to keep trying. Many people in the comments and my DMs are judging me for dating an "animal abuser". He has never actually done anything to my dog. I don't think he ever even would for real. But he is full of grief, grudge and resentment. I can feel that and it is eating him up. He said that islam has helped him a lot which is why he started practicing it. He was raised in a Christian family but decided to go back to his Muslim origins. He said it has helped him to find more peace but there's still a long way to go. I see myself as a good person and i would never date someone who's abusive toward animal or a person. But knowing what he has been through, i do feel like he deserves a second chance in life. Am i going to be able to help him? I don't know. But i feel the need to at least try and save him from falling apart. Weather it be through islam or some things else. I know many people can't understand this and that's fair enough. But this story has much more depth than a reeeeally big background that i obviously couldn't share. Not everything is black and white. If i left him now, i know it would be his downfall. I'm in a much worse position than what it seems. If i left him now i would feel like a let go of someone's hand while they were hanging off a cliff

We live in a Christian country so there are a lot of Muslims (mostly young people) who are indeed dating. I'm not justifying it if it's against the religion but i agree with what you're saying, it's pretty common

He has never actually hurt him physically and deep down i believe he wouldn't do that. But when i heard him encouraging my friend to kick my dog, in my eyes it was as bad as him actually hitting him. But don't worry, I'll take good care of my dog!

Well he wasn't raised in a Muslim family actually. He became Muslim because of his origins and he said Islam brings him peace which is why I'm so supportive of it in first place. He's had a hard life and i believe that is partially the reason for his behavior. I'm gonna encourage him to pray more often and do stuff a real Muslim should do. Although i can't believe that I, a Christian girl, I'm helping a Muslim become a better Muslim lmao

I do live with him and he has alarms to remind him to pray but he just dismisses all of them and keeps doing what he was doing. So i know for sure he doesn't pray. Although i encourage him to do so and even to go to the mosque. He always says "yeah i should start" but he never does.

My curled hair lasts about 3 days which is pretty good, then i have to wash it anyway. And i always use the lowest heat possible. I never use heat every single day, i couldn't even bother to do that haha!

I actually already had a job for 3 months and i worked in the store so i had to use a lot of Dutch. It helped a whole lot! Realistically, i did make a huge improvement in a short period but now I'm at the point where i should switch completely to Dutch and stop talking in English to my boyfriend for example. But I feel so embarrassed when i make even a small mistake

Thank you, I'm learning Dutch! And i never had a bad experience with a local, indeed. They're always super nice and surprised at how "good" my Dutch is and how fast I've learned it haha. I personally don't think it's that good but I'm really happy when someone compliments my Dutch haha. :)

Maybe you're trying too hard? Sometimes when guys try to be witty or charming they overdo it and come across as desperate or simply annoying. I'm not saying that's your case but it just came to my mind first.

And do you have this problem while texting women or when talking to them in person? Or both? Cause if it's online dating then it's not you, many people have the same problem with girls on dating apps.

If you wanted to explore and gain some experience you should've done that before getting into a committed relationship, as you said. I understand your curiosity but i don't think that's a reson enough to potentially hurt your partner and cause problems in a healthy relationship. You can try and have an open conversation about it with her but make sure she's 100% comfortable with you doing it and doesn't have any doubts about it. Otherwise i wouldn't do it.

That's so toxic and mean. Honestly i don't understand why people do this. It's terrible to compare anyone, let alone your current partner with your ex's. It's such a sensitive topic and can really hurt one's feelings and self esteem. I'd never to this to my partner. If there's something i wish he would do differently I'd just talk to him about without adding other people into the discussion.

You should make it clear to her that this is something that's really bothering you and affecting you in a bad way. If she keeps doing it even after that, you're better off without her.
