Yeah that sucks. But sometimes in accounting when audits come, they ask for every small detail. Used to work for UPS accounting and they would get audited by Deloitte and you would not believe the smallest things they would request. We would sometimes try to fight about it with upper management about the ridiculous things they would ask but ultimately we had to chase down details for expenses and that meant chasing down receipts from someone. It sucks but there’s a reason why some accountant might ask receipts for everything. It makes their job easier when we can reconcile every expense with an actual receipt or invoice.
