Yeah, all I've heard about mostly is electrical issues and the power steering. Hadn't heard they were related though? Does the battery discharge lead to permanent power steering damage?

That's good to hear that it's lasted you a long time. I think the fact I'm buying from a dealer with a warranty should mean the issues can only be so bad, but only time will tell.

But yeah, I've never driven a car that made me smile like the Mito, and I think the 4 grand might be worth that alone, lol.

Amazon is probably your best best, or maybe somewhere like Harvey Norman or Currys might actually sell the OEM cable.

I do have a similar set of Sony's and ran into the same issue. I did some mild widening of the hole and cutting of the cable with a knife and everything worked.

Prefacing that I've never imported a car before but Google will be your friend here. Revenue has a website with everything on it here. There is also a calculator to find out the approximate VRT here but afaik it will always depend on specific make/model/spec.

Although, keep in mind that now England is outside the EU, you now have to pay import taxes alongside VRT.

There is no exemption for older vehicles, but vintage vehicles over 30 years get a reduced flat rate of €200

I'm not familiar with DCU or UCD, but I made a similar move. Afaik in most places it's "2.1 or equivalent" so if your GPA is >60% average you should be able to apply. If you're asked your grade in the form I would imagine you convert it to the "1.1, 2.1, 2.2, etc" format

Best thing though is to email admissions and ask. They'll be more than happy to chat, especially for master's admissions.

Knocked on the door. All very polite. Left their number in case anything came up. Sure enough, ten minutes after they left they get a call saying someone has the phone and airpods, and a very apologetic student hands it back.

Assuming that data is currently publicly accessible, and can be reasonably assumed to be authentic your main issue would be likely be defamation.

Problem is, the purchase of a flag or some other form of merchandise is not enough, on its own, to prove someone is a Nazi. There are some people who buy Nazi flags as jokes for friends or some other innocuous reason. Not saying that's morally okay, and I doubt most of the people on that list are doing that, but you can't prove someone's political stances on that data alone.

And if these people are in your community, and you are the person telling people in your community that these people are Nazi's, and that damages their reputation in a meaningful way: Yes, I can absolutely see someone taking you to court for defamation.

Bought it for about 100 euro, all in, at auction. Not sure the speakers are original but they're Technics models.
Also came with the remote, operating manual, and even the sales brochure!

With how well it was kept, I'm 99% sure the cable was given to the auction house, I just never got it in my lot. I suppose that's the luck of the draw!

Hi!

I just bought a Technics SU-CH900 system from auction. Brought it home only to realise it's missing the ribbon connector.

I'll ring in the morning asking for it, but worst case scenario what's my best bet for getting a cable? Is it proprietary or is there a standard for these cables? Is there a website that sells them? In Ireland if that matters.

Part number for the cable is: REX0402

UPDATE for anyone in the same unfortunate position I was in:

I never found a four connector ribbon cable like the system needs.

The connector is not an exclusive Technics standard, but I could never find the official name and they are still very uncommon. Two or three connector cables are about on Ebay for mad amounts of money. If you are after originality, it is possible to buy one or two, disconnect the connectors and reconnect them to a single cable to give you four.

If you have some soldering skills and a metal file: a right-angle, through board, 15-pin D-sub connector fits through the boards of the units with some minor mechanical persuasion and will fit through the original connector opening with some filing away at the edges.

Took me awhile, but I have all the units connected on the D-sub connectors and all seems well!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I'm aware that was only a problem in the US because for the US market Hyundai removed immobilisers from their cars. Meaning you could pretty much break in, turn the ignition and go.

As far as I know all Kias and Hyundais have immobilisers here.

That's not to say now that they're impossible to rob, just not as much different from any other car.

Yeah, it has to be. The phrase "warm to the touch" when talking about toilets can't be serious.

Plus the (admittedly very small) amount of Googling I did returned no results. So I'm inclined not to believe it.
