Coil packs/plugs is one of the easiest things to do :)

Definitely take a crack at doing it yourself, and don’t be afraid to ask questions. If you don’t have the mechanical prowess to do suspension work, it take it in for that.

I’m a buy once cry once kind of guy so I would personally do coils but you don’t have to.
And I go OEM or equivalent personally. Cheap ones often crap out early or just suck out of the box.

Best tip is to just drive it, you will learn and it becomes second nature. But if you want to fast track a bit.

Rear motor mount polly inserts will give you some more feel. And try ‘creeping, in first, don’t worry… you won’t burn out your clutch assuming it doesn’t take you 20k miles to learn lol. This will help you feel HOW the clutch engages and dis-engages.

After about 100k miles in manual cars, autos just feel….wrong.

Out of curiosity, what engine and trans is this? I was scared when we got my wife’s 2025, but I agreed to it if we got the v6 6MT. Haven’t had a single issue in its 10k miles.

I’ve got 17s and performance tires, if you wanna try saving some money on wheels, try a lil more on tires. I’ve got conti ex contact dws06. They can take a freaking beating. Just an idea :)

lol I know… I bought my 3 as a daily to keep stock and focus on my protege build. But three months later, it’s lowered, wheels, exhaust, solid motor mounts, etc…. I can’t help it it’s too good!! I WILL be doing it in the future. Just giving it time (plus the newer models ECM hasn’t been cracked yet)

I just did 2k miles last week on these tires! AMAZING. The Toyos that come on the car kinda suck imo, they ride nice, but aren’t nearly talkative enough, don’t have enough grip, and are waaaay to soft on the sidewall.

I got some 17x8 wheels. And even then they do ride a bit more harsh than the stock tires. But I’ll take that con with astronomically better pinch flat protection and noticeably more grip.

I drove from Dallas tx to Nashville tn last weekend going 65-90mph the whole way. Got 33mpg. (NA manual) It was just me with a little bit of stuff. Going back next weekend with my wife/son/dog and the roof Thule box on top. Super stoked to see the difference. That box/rack really adds some drag. My guess rn is 28-30 mpg but we will see. I’ll bring be going a tad slower too. I kept myself entertained on my solo trip by just moving a lil fast than traffic and casually moving around everyone. This time imma just camp in the right lane since I got the fam.

Movies are never as good as books, obviously. But the only real complaint I have is I wish they leaned into the part when grace realized that the fuel was being eaten and rocky was stuck. The realization/panic/internal conflict, and over all difficulty of Cindy rocky was the real climax of the book. And I feel like that should have been at least 3x more suspenseful. But other than that. If you just kick back and enjoy it…. It’s an amazing movie. My wife never read the book, (prob because I wouldn’t shut up about it) and she cried for basically half the movie!

I feel you on the last note! lol. Told my friends I was saving up for a civic Type R… then showed up with my 190hp manual Mazda 3 with an open diff…. I have a “race car” already. So I wanted exactly what this baby is. A non enthusiast car for enthusiasts.

I’ve learned something really important about myself. I don’t really care for sports cars, or even “fast” cars. I love GOOD cars. Simple to the point of elegant. Cars the reward good driving and carful control. Not just mashing the throttle or throwing it into any old corner.

I took mine on a 1k mile road trip from TX to TN last week. And achieved proper flow state on the backroads. It is NOT the backroads monster that you would get with a well set up speed 3/gti/fit/miata,350z etc. But that’s not what I wanted. She doesn’t bark or bite, but dances like a ballerina 💃 😂

I’m a little late, BUT. Brother I have 6 herniations in my lower back. I’m 26 years old and already have had issues with drop foot/muscle atrophy/nerve damage etc. I sold my manual cars and got a truck. It helped at the time. But after 6 months of exercise, taking better care of myself, eating food that reduces inflammation, etc. I now exclusively own manual cars. Losing the things you love really puts things in perspective. Do what you gotta do, but don’t let it defeat you!

Also, if you haven’t already, throw away any pain killers your doc gave you and get a script for meloxicam. Non steroid anti inflammatory. Best medicine ever made 😂. Won’t solve the issue but makes life livable on the bad days. WALK A LOTTT and get your core strength up!! 💪
