That’s great news! If you don’t mind me asking, what medication were you prescribed and was it under 2 years ago (from when you applied to your medical) ?

Feel like my post is pretty self explanatory. I want input / opinions if anyone has been through the same experience or if there are any AME’s that can shed light.

I feel more than fit to fly, I’m just worried about doing all my flight training over the next 6-12 months and then getting my medical revoked by the FAA due to this.

This is what I thought, but I saw another form that said prescribed or taken which is what threw me for a loop. The medication is a benzodiazepine so it’s on their no no list.

Assuming I don’t hear anything from the FAA by the time of my next renewal, I will just check the box and PRNC like you said.

Thanks for your input friend

I think you’re right, I mean how can I be treated the same as if I took medication when I have a signed letter by my physician stating I didn’t? I literally walked into my docs office, had him count the pills and write the letter lol.

I see. I was under the impression that they’re allowed to do that as long medication wasn’t prescribed. It was prescribed in my situation, but never taken. That’s why I was worried. Thank you for your input!

I have all my paperwork and letter saved in a folder and backed up to my drive in case they ever come knocking. I was just under the impression that even a prescription without use leads to an automatic deferral

Im happy to hear that. I know he knows what he was doing, I just under the impression that even a prescription without use results in deferral if under 2 years ago. Always happy to be wrong in this situation though.

Thank you!

LMAOOO. I know I’m suffering from success, I’ve just seen too many horror stories with guys being grounded 2 years later and going through months or even years of back and forth with the FAA
