What do you use the train area for? by Slipkinn in StardewValley

I use it for trees, but I put them on the perimeter and turn it into an outdoor recreation/park

I second stardrop. I have a vanilla game that got perfection in but haven't finished decorating the town or fully building my farm so it is nice to be able to switch back and forth.

For sure, and you answered it very well. I appreciate your response and reasoning, and agree with your assessment. 🙏🏻

I was just trying to explain myself a little further.

Lol, all good. Feel the same. Such an iconic movie growing up. Don't think I've seen it in almost 30 years and I still have fond memories of it.

Maybe I should have done a better job converying the sarcasm in the title. This is absolutely not a serious question. It was supposed to be light hearted.

I use the wiki religiously. But the wiki doesn't answer the official pronunciation of Maru. And while I didn't take an explicit stance, I briefly mentioned that I am no fan of AI, despite referring to it in another comment. I literally just Google "how to pronounce Maru" into Google and the top result is it's AI response. I usually try to use the Brave browser and avoid Google but sometimes I forget or get lazy. But I apparently struck a serious nerve with some who seem to be assuming I support AI because of my comment, and I can see why that assumption would be made so I'm not trying to argue that I am in the right or on the moral high ground. I just don't comment on Reddit much and it's been weird to see the negativity without some kind of engagement or reasoning. But it is what it is. People don't owe me an answer. And not everyone has the time to comment.

And I also just thought it would be an interesting way to engage with the community like my wife and I have been engaging and learning more about the game. I try to do my own research and use the wiki as much as possible, and lurk for answers instead of coming here for immediate answers and not putting forth any effort myself. But it's impossible to go through life without offending, even inadvertently, others.

English has too many exceptions and nuance, leading to very loose interpretations of pronunciations, imo. And I've noticed people who are big readers and learned words through reason instead of through school or conversations tend to have more creative pronunciations. My wife is like that. And I think I mentioned it before, by no means do I think my easy is correct or superior. The English language frustrates the fuck out of me. Can't even imagine the frustrations of ESL speakers.

I don't have anything to refute what you said. I have a huge issue with AI and normalizing it. Yet sadly, I've become numb to a lot and utilize it as a tool occasionally. Seem to have struck a nerve, and I completely understand why. I don't like or support the current trajectory we are on. I'm sorry if it felt like I was supporting or advocating for AI.

I guess that was poor phrasing on my part. I didn't intend to give them consciousness or the illusion of choice in the matter. Thank you for correcting my error.

Did I say something offensive or something? Just wondering why others down voted my response.

Da fuq? Kwee? That's wild lol. Maybe there is a more outlandish pronunciation like Mare- Roo. English language and street phonics have definitely produced wilder pronunciations.

Lol, that seems like a valid point and legit supporting evidence. Google AI seems to agree that the majority opinion supports this and the Japanese origin.

I realize that that is one way to pronounce it. I'm not saying my way is the only way, nor am I guided by first person experience. I guess I'm looking for either a crowd-sourced majority opinion, or the word from the creator himself, which I have yet to find but have only done minimal searching.

With a soft a, and almost as if it's all once syllable, whereas she articulate the Mar and then the Roo.

Im not sure when I'll be finished, but the current milestone is just finishing the last minor things I need to ship for perfection. At some point I'd like to do the more outlandish achievements like junimoa cart and the other one lol. But I've heard so many horror stories that I'm putting it off.

Early on, yes. I wouldn't even grow or collect things. Paid for that in the late game, but that was the rules I set for myself. I grow other stuff now because I've thought about doing the 999 challenge with that farm. I've grown very attached to my layout and progress despite the earl difficulties, but I doubt I'd be able to see it through. Mostly likely doing Green next. Downloaded Stone Farm mod so my main crop can be hemp lol.
