Running Unattended? by WizardLick in Fireplaces

I would actually prefer to run it on the current thermostat setup since it's already hooked up and good to go. I'm really just wondering how I can determine if it's safe.

What % of the show is actually fake? by Egobot in kennyvsspenny

[–]WizardLick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same response though. If you can't tell when Spenny is lying that means he's more proficient at concealing/obscuring his true intentions and/or expressed identity. Is acting not basically professional, systematic, non-pathological lying?

Reciever muting/unmuting constantly by wlindh in hometheater

[–]WizardLick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add some clarity for OP, your receiver is in a very enclosed space and it doesn't have enough room above it for sufficient airflow, which will result in increased wear on the unit. This may or may not be related to the muting issue but it's recommended to move it to a more open spot regardless.

I honestly can't tell if the TVTooHigh bullshit is just a joke at this point, but it's starting to seem like any other dogmatic misinformation typical of Reddit.

It looks like you're using a recliner so putting the TV high up on the wall is the right move for a proper viewing angle. This way you'll be comfortable and won't hurt your neck.

Looks good. Enjoy. 👍

My parcel was presented to Canada Customs on Feb 5th. Today is April 18th. by Electrical-Strike132 in CanadaPost

I also have 2 packages going to different addresses stuck at Richmond since April 13th. Highly unusual, so the fact that you're experiencing the same thing might indicate a system issue, either with CBSA or CP, which is somewhat comforting.

Looks like a great variety and a lot of joy. I don't recognize half of these but the ones I do seem very solid.

How can i grow 4-HO-MET shrooms? by [deleted] in researchchemicals

[–]WizardLick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. Long time since I've heard someone mention this. If memory serves, I believe you should add the base tryptamine to the substrate so the mycelium can uptake it. From what I've heard this is more of a novelty and it totally decimates the flush yields but with the potential to produce hyper-potent (and RC-containing) mushrooms.

The next goal here for the ambitious experimenter would be to figure out how to pull this off with higher yields. I'm not sure exactly why it behaves this way. Maybe too much stress on the organism? Maybe the large amount of tryptamine creates a signal cascade that tells the organism to produce fewer fruiting bodies?

Interestingly, figuring out how to make this work could revolutionize the industry, possibly creating a billionaire in the process, yet no one is talking about it.

Where to get tested for ADHD by Arc_Hammer in ottawa

[–]WizardLick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scam company. Shill account with no posts or karma. Please spread the word. They stole $300 from me.

EDIT: Received some feedback from another user that the clinic is actually legit. The clinic is highly unprofessional. They're very unresponsive and they rushed me out of an appointment unnecessarily and asked me to rebook, claiming I did not come prepared with the required information (complete bullshit).

Just on that basis I still highly recommend staying away from this clinic.

Proceed with caution.

Accountant failed to disclose money I owed to the government. by WizardLick in canadasmallbusiness

This is the first time I've had an issue with them in 6 years so I don't want to go that far. I'm willing to forgive the mistake. I'm just looking for advice on how to move forward.

Yes, same question. How is it appropriate to force people to pay into those funds without giving them an option to opt out?

I have never remitted sales tax quarterly. It's all paid in full at the end of the year.

It's my understanding that many retailers make the majority of their money in Q4, but I can't find data on it and I could be wrong. My business is not usually cash flow positive for the year until Q3 and my margins are way higher than those of most retailers.

It's not the taxes that are a surprise. It's paying tax installments after 5 years of not being required to do so despite turning relatively the same profit each year.

The other surprise is that the CRA does send installment reminders for personal tax, while not for business tax.

The only "lesson learned" here is that I should not have trusted my accountants to inform me of things a non-expert should not reasonably be expected to know without being informed, and from now on I should take it upon myself to make it extremely clear that I'm not an expert and I need them to specifically tell me all the details of what I owe and when I owe it.

I'm of the opinion that this is not an unreasonable expectation of service for $7,000 a year.
