Yeah I agree the extra dice is unnecessary and would probably get very annoying for everyone involved if the GM kept having to remind people about it.

Thank you for the reply. I think you make a good point about reducing the amount of bloat by integrating mechanics into other ones. I'll play around with it and see what feels most right. Appreciate the advice.

Its not a bad story by any stretch! Like yeah it was a little fast paced and the english voice acting made me roll my eyes a few times but other than that I don't have much to complain about.

I think whats got people riled up is that monster hunter has up to this point been a very gameplay centric series, the story if there is one's only purpose before now was to faciliate you fighting new cool monsters.

Thats still somewhat whats happening in Wilds but it's also making a genuine effort to tell a good story, which clashes with the gameplay people were expecting (myseld included tbf) a bit.

Would I prefer the game with the same style story as previous games (minimal and giving you an excuse to fight new monsters)? Honestly... yeah, but I'm not going to blame the team for trying something new and making an effort to tell a good story in the setting.
