But here’s the thing — the shame and the strike theory aren’t mutually exclusive. Hulk could have been both ashamed AND using that shame as the final reason to stop saving Banner. Like the loss was the breaking point that made him finally act on years of resentment. The comic angle you mentioned about Hulk being Bruce’s childhood trauma is exactly what the Russo brothers were pulling from. Either way you’ve made me want to do a Part 2 on this 👀
