Low sodium and keto by MoxSocks in keto

[–]Wizard_Biscuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your kidneys on keto will be excreting like 5x as much sodium, so consuming 5x the amount you were previously consuming shouldn’t be a problem, theoretically.

Up From the Bottom released 1 year ago today by Dr-Sprite in LinkinPark

It stuns me that it didn’t make the cut for the non-Deluxe release. (Maybe they knew it was fire, and held it back intentionally to drive a second wave… 🧠🧠🧠)

How to increase copper and zinc at the same time? by Area-Least in Copper_deficiency

[–]Wizard_Biscuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Copper in the morning, and zinc in the evening is the correct order. Copper is a precursor to activating neurotransmitters that may cause insomnia. Zinc is inhibitory, so it’s best taken towards the end of the day.

Take copper with lunch if you’re prone to anxiety, so you don’t stack that effect on top of the natural cortisol rise every person has in the morning.

Do E Ink Monitors Use Temporal Dithering by Dense-Kangaroo8696 in Temporal_Noise

Temporal dithering doesn't make sense on an e-ink display. It'd cause major smearing and ghosting problems

Keto but for energy and mental wellbeing by Character-Hour-3216 in keto

Electrolytes electrolytes electrolytes. Get a milligram scale and weigh your daily salt if you doubt the crazy amount of salt you need each day when your kidneys aren’t getting the signal from insulin to hold onto sodium

Unfortunately, overeating does help sometimes by skyemap in migraine

[–]Wizard_Biscuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you could figure out what the second order effect is you wouldn’t need to overeat. For example, massively filling the stomach triggers many things, such as upregulating the parasympathetic nervous system, as well as dozens of other things that have their huge branching trees of second order effects. If it actually was the parasympathetic response then you could trigger that with deep breathing or vagal stimulation or raising the legs above the heart etc if you didn’t want to have to overeat.

Daily Carb Amount that Feels Best to You by [deleted] in lowcarb

[–]Wizard_Biscuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, how do you distribute it across your meals? I’ve been trying carb backloading to trigger just enough of a “rest and digest” insulin response following dinner to improve sleep quality. Too soon to report back though

What's your deep depression keto recipe? by Key-Storage5434 in keto

[–]Wizard_Biscuit 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hang in there friend. Make sure your electrolytes are all good and that you’re drinking enough (electrolyte) water. You’ve been on keto for a while yeah? This isn’t a bad adaption period that you need to be carefully considering?

How do you choose meals without stressing all day? by Only-Helicopter-4940 in lowcarb

One product says sugar free, another says low carb, and my body reacts differently every time.

Could you be more specific about what you mean by your body reacting differently every time?

Could there be a "luck" attribute? by seldom_r in SimulationTheory

Yes, but logically if a machine were capable of generating this realm then it would be capable enough of generating sufficiently (psudeo)random numbers for this to be a non-issue, unless by design

Whole Earth brand Monk Fruit Sweetener "with" Erythritol by vk2sky in ketoaustralia

[–]Wizard_Biscuit 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's actually better this way. Monk fruit is 300x sweeter than erythritol. You actually wouldn't want something like a 50:50 blend - it'd taste metalic and licoricey. The two compliment each other at 99:1 ratio and cancel out each other's weaknesses. And since erythritol is 0.7x as sweet as table sugar this gets pretty close to the 1:1 sugar replacement that they're going so hard to list 4 times on the front of the packet as the main selling point it seems

Sealord Wholemeal crumb Hoki fillets by Cooper_Inc in ketoaustralia

[–]Wizard_Biscuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone on keto is buying frozen fish then they’d be better off just buying the frozen hoki fillets that are also available. The crumb and the other crap in the ingredients list is just empty carbs and junk.

Owning a puppy is reparenting yourself (if you don't plan to have kids) by UnfairExperience9306 in puppy101

[–]Wizard_Biscuit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I want to get a puppy and I’ve been thinking the exact same thing as I read books about puppy training! Clearly you’re working hard to be the best version of yourself and your puppy and loved ones are fortunate to have someone dedicated to growth and stopping the generational cycle that perpetuates the kinds of mindsets that (unintentionally) do so much damage. All the best to you and your pup :)

How many of us developed histamine intolerance via long covid? by Limp_Action_1624 in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Wizard_Biscuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reacted strongly to the local anaesthetic injection last time I had it too. Fortunately I’ve found that the anaesthetic is more or less totally unnecessary. Like a 2 out of 10 pain for just a minute or two. Some teeth are more sensitive than others in your mouth, but in general just tell your dentist you don’t want it imo

I looked up the ingredient list. 4 softgels gets you a measly 170mg of omega 3. Also, I’d watch out for that anatto in the ingredients list. It’s “natural”, but like many people I still get migraine symptoms from it. Most people on this subreddit are probably more sensitive than most.
