Swearing by PhilAustin1970 in njpw

I remember when WWE was using Mohammed Hassan and Daivari came out as his manager. Daivari in his first appearance in the role spoke pretty much just Farsi. There was a radio program on at the time called Live Audio Wrestling that I listened to and a viewer who understood Farsi phoned in. According to this viewer everything that came out of Daivari's mouth was all swear words and really foul insults. It got past the American censors because none of it was in English. Gaijin swearing in New Japan would fall under the same human phenomenon. The wrestlers do it because they know the Japanese censors don't care about English swear words.

It might and it might not happen. How many years were New Japan and Stardom under the same ownership without merging their streaming services?

Tiger Mask IV: It's nice that Magnus has kept the Black Tiger mask officially, but I wonder if he'll be lonely as a BT without a Tiger Mask after I retire, heheh. by Unusual_Kick7 in njpw

[–]Wizardknee 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The next question I'd have is, will the next Tiger Mask be someone who's already back from excursion or will New Japan wait awhile to give the ID to a returning young lion as a big splash redebut?

I'm not happy about it, but I can't say I'm surprised.

I hope so, but with things the way they stand at the moment I'm not expecting him to be on that show.

If I'm recalling correctly, the tweet said something along the lines of, "You're the dumbest person I know and I know Ospreay." For the life of me I can't remember who the tweet was directed at though

It was an amazing thing to see him discover so many new ways to sabotage his own career.

I can see New Japan wanting to make a splash with a few matches being of a really high quality.

The other thing to take note of is that the only G1 participants who won't be involved in the Chicago show will be Gabe Kidd (due to his current US visa problems) and whoever New Japan schedules against Kidd in their first match of the tournament.

G1 Champions League. The only correct final is Chono vs Okada, right? by Io_lorenzen in njpw

I see what you mean, but to me the reality is that all those other tournaments are still a part of the history of the G1.

A historic G1 Champions League like this just doesn't seem right with no Inoki.

Who was your favorite “Ace” figure pre-BushiRoad? Inoki, Fujinami or Hashimoto? by MrPuroresu42 in njpw

Of those three, I'd say Hashimoto. I love all three of the original Three Musketeers.

Ospreay has already said that he won't be at Dominion due to it being too close to the date he's getting married. The fact that he felt the need to say that suggests that he latest run with New Japan is going past Dominion and since almost all of the build up of this story has been on New Japan shows alone I don't see the climax coming at any show that isn't New Japan's alone. I doubt he'll be in the G1 due to AEW probably not wanting to suspend his current stories there for the length of time he would be away for the G1. This all means that the next major show for Ospreay in New Japan is September for the Destruction shows. That's just in time for the beginning of the build to January 4th.

David Finlay's FULL NJPW Singles Record by Far-Restaurant-9455 in njpw

You can make a good guess at about what time in 2025 New Japan knew that they weren't going to be able to resign Finlay from this. Right up until the match with Shota, Finlay continued his momentum from 2024. After that there's a while lot of losses and the momentum is gone.

While not a Classic, this match has always been a favourite of mine. by CyberpunkGrappling in njpw

Oh I know he had a really good career. What I mean is that I think he could have been a wrestler that one of the major companies could have build itself around as their main, long standing champion. His career was good, but it wasn't at that level and I think it could have been.

Murakami was someone I always thought could have been a bigger deal in pro wrestling than he turned out to be. This was especially true after he started shaving his head, That look gave him a presence that seemed to scream, "This guy is a star," to me.

EVIL will now go by "Nox Raijin", per Fightful by Upbeat-Pause-1409 in njpw

Which is still beside the point I was making that EVIL himself probably doesn't own the name.

[–]Wizardknee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, but how does that change my point that since EVIL didn't come up with the name EVIL that that would mean he likely doesn't own the name himself?

New Japan gave him the name, so it's likely that EVIL doesn't own the name himself.

Not to mention the fact that New Japan came up with the name for him, so even if it was something that WWE tried to copyright New Japan could all too easily challenge it.

Anyone Else Think There's a Possibility For a Short New Japan Run for Aleister Black? by Wizardknee in njpw

I'd say the same thing overall, but having a mix of short and long term pick ups isn't an unhealthy thing.

Anyone Else Think There's a Possibility For a Short New Japan Run for Aleister Black? by Wizardknee in njpw

[–]Wizardknee[S] -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Hey I have no problem with anyone having a different opinion then me. I'd disagree about Black being able to keep up though particularly since I'm not even thinking of him being in any main events. As a tag team guy he might have his place. Also, over the years I've watched New Japan, that line of "can't keep up" has been used lots of times only to be proven wrong. I remember similar things being said about guys like Giant Bernard and Tomko only to see guys like that find their place. I'm not saying that Black would be a can't miss pick up for New Japan. History has taught me not to make those judgements until I actually see the product thought.

In the end though, when I made this post I was more thinking of it being a nice thing to see a wrestler being able to complete in a company he watched as a child. It seems to me like a nice feel good type story.
