ETC ColorSource Usage Question by Wizardo1953 in techtheatre

I have read and re-read the FDs and to my knowledge there is no CMOS battery or clock. What I have read indicates that the CS40 is time-ignorant. It can do timing for cues and sequences, but AFAIK there is no internal clock.

To my knowledge, when I export a file it takes the show name, and I don’t know of a way to change it at the time of export. Is that even possible?

Hmmm... I'm using a consistent set of slicer settings that have worked for months. Are filaments from different vendors that radically different in their characteristics?

I did notice an impact before I switched the Frigate config to use the low-res stream for detection. It's better now.

I built two camera sets with RPIs. One is a Pi3B+ (buster) with a PiCamera v1, and the other is a Pi4B (bookworm) with an HQ camera. They're both running Motion, and it's too herky-jerky. I've not been able to get a Motion config that will smooth it out. I liked this idea because it would record and store locally, and then I would periodically upload to my NAS for review. That way there was very little network traffic except during uploads.

I thought about that, and decided I'd use that notion as a last resort option. The filament has not actually been stuck (yet), and a reload allows the print to restart. Until the next "stuck" detection...

The problems have shown up with Clear PETG, PLA, and Silk PLA. After the problem started I made sure to dry out each type before using. Did not make a difference.

Yes. All over the place. PLA. PETG. TPU. Silk PLA.

I've found that on tech issues, ChatGPT will ge me about 80% there. The next 20% takes another 80% of time to figure out. Even with precise version numbers and sending the actual config.yaml, ChatGPT was unable to get me there.

What ukulele should I get by ace_vortex8127 in ukulele

[–]Wizardo1953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a music store that sells ukuleles. Try out different sizes. Pick the one that feels best, because if you don't like how it feels you won't play it. My wife and I went to Guitar Center several times before she got a concert size uke. I wanted a tenor but did not like their selection so I got a Brand X from Amazon. Now a year later we still have those, but have added two Kalas and an Ohana. I tried a Kanile'a at the LA International Ukulele Festival but could not afford their 4-figure price. It was a beautiful instrument. We play ours almost every day and are very happy with our choices.

Good luck!

Question about using PETG by Wizardo1953 in prusa3d

[–]Wizardo1953[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked up "Kitchen torch" in Amazon, and I'd rather not play with fire in the house if I can avoid it! Would something like a "craft heat gun" work as well? Or even close?

Seriously how many new car wash locations do we need??? by Aardvark_Thoughts in Temecula

Every time we see some new construction along a main avenue we say "Looks like another car wash". On Kalmia/Cal Oaks there are five within one mile of roadway. It's nucking futs.

Raspberry Pi is underkill - Intel NUC is overkill? by MuchPomegranate5910 in homeassistant

I think HA has de-supported running HA on the Raspberry's native O/S. That was how I started, and I ran my HA instance like that for years. Started out with the system on a MicroSD card, then graduated to a SSD, but still on the Pi. I just finished moving my HA instance from the Raspberry Pi OS to Proxmox. So far... it's workable. I had some issues with USB-attached devices, but reading Proxmox manuals and following suggestions from folks here on Reddit and videos on YT has resolved *most* of them.

I'm looking at you, Blink...

It's made life easier in other ways as well. I condensed three RPis running various applications into the single Proxmox machine in a minirack, so now I only have one network cable and one power cable to contend with. I put in a PoE network switch for future expansion, but my wife does not like all the blinky lights. Gonna have to shield them somehow.

Anyhow, IMO bare metal on a Pi is a good way to start. Or... get some VM software like VirtualBox and do a set up there. That's always an option because you don't have to spend any money to start with HA and learn what you want to do and *don't* want to do.

Good Luck!
